Very well built, easy to install. While this is intended for pigeons, I am using for chickens. I have hens who decided to lay under the coop which is built in such a way I cannot jack it up to see if someone is underneath. Concerned that a hen might be broody under there, I didn't want to board it up completely. I installed this so any hens could get out but not go back under the coop. Works great!! All hens are now out and accounted for. I will use this again in the future.

As soon as I showed the pigeons how to use it, they were very comfortable going in. Just be careful, the hawks will use it as well. Have had 2 separate instances of hawks in my pigeon coop. I have since put a blocker in front of it when all the birds are inside

It came with one bar not installed and no instructions. It felt rather loose but I installed it as it came to try it out. Caught two pigeons and a dove right away and they had no issues getting out after some time pacing in the cage. I then installed the extra bar, tried again and same result.I have caught mourning doves, blue collar doves, rock pigeons, a oriole, and even a hawk and every single one of these bigger birds has escaped back through this trap door without any assistance from a human.I am at a complete loss as to how this actually traps the bird so it can't exit back through this?

It works great ! Just need to be careful when you raise it up that the spring doesn't fall off. Lost the spring. Don't really know if you can order that separate

Does not come with a locking rod so other animals can use it when your not wanting them to come into the coupe.
