Pentair R171096 Rainbow 320 Automatic in-Line Chlorine/Bromine Feeder for Pool and Spa

Exact fit. I read other reviews on the knock off brand. This is exactly what I needed. It came with the extra hose as well. If you use 1 inch tabs use the bottom hole. If you use the 3 inch tabs use the top. Even came with libe for the O ring. Make sure you use Teflon tape and only hand tighten the lid so it won't get stuck on.

This chlorinator works great. We saved about $100 from the price of any local pool supply store. Easy to install.

24 minutes from delivery to installed! Removed the set screw from the bottom of my existing chlorine feeder, unscrewed it and the hose/etc. The new one was setup at the bottom vs. top, so I unscrewed the existing fittings on the new one (already wrapped in teflon tape btw - nice), screwed them in at the top, installed the plug, screwed on the feeder, and put in the set screw. From delivery to feeding chlorine in under 30 minutes. NICE!

Product arrived early and in an actual pentair box. Exact replacement for the one the kids broke while roughhousing in the backyard. They broke the fitting that holds the external water line. Upon realizing the fitting was nearly 10 bucks I decided to replace the entire unit as it had developed a vacuum leak from a bad seal (which was another 8 bucks. I figured for 60 bucks more I could replace the entire unit and I should be good for another 8 years. Ten minute installation with great instructions. No leaks this far and is working as it should. On a side note if your main fitting below the feeder is still good, as mine was, you can simply unscrew the feeder from the supplied base and connect it to the old fitting. That is how I was able to install it in 10 minutes. Otherwise, I would have had to do some more pvc work and the installation time would have risen. Still easy but would have definitely been more time consuming. First two photos are the new feeder and the last photo is the one it replaced. Hope this helps!

Everything seemed great, had a pool company install for us as we had some pipe work that needed to be done and had them go ahead and install for us. In the photo I have included the feeder is leaking water where I have it circled in black. This is not a joint that screws on rather is cemented on from the looks of it. Waiting to hear back from the seller as he was very prompt in filling this order for us. I have left him a message but could see how to attach photo for him to see so have included here.

I had a 7-yr old chlorinator (off-brand copy of the Pentair 320), and it was starting to have issues with the check valve and the chlorine control valve. I could have bought parts separately but the cost was getting close to a full swap. I decided a new one was needed and I couldn’t be happier. Since I chose to keep the diverter tee to avoid disconnecting existing flow tubes, that meant I needed to change out the flex tube, spring and its fittings which was super easy. I added a little more plumbing tape when I rethreaded the tube fixtures to the control valve and housing body, just to be safe. Be patient, the housing will fit and you can tighten enough to keep the orientation of the tube. The little screw that keeps the housing from spinning was tedious, and probably took 10 minutes itself to get reseeded. But it was just a tight fit for my equipment, not the fault of the screw necessarily. The entire swap took less than 30 minutes (if that), including salvaging some existing tabs. Be careful of the dangerous fumes from the existing equipment and old tablets, please wear a mask or keep your breathing protected. Very pleased with experience thus far.

Cap was on too tight. We tried having one person hold while other twisted it. It cracked slightly while tried to get cap off and we ended up returning it and buying same model at local store. It took three people in our local store to get the cap off, so seems like a product defect — not anything to do with this seller. If you need this model, I’d say buy from here but be prepared to get three people to help get the cap off?

Works great, for my pool I almost always have to have it set to 5 on the dial, but that is okay. I did have to run the fill tube to the top port, the bottom one didn't seem to do much if anything, but the longer tube was supplied and took about 5 minutes to change.
