Good indoor and OUTDOOR
*** Since reaching the end of writing this I’ve decided it’s a long review but worth reading!! :)Wheat bags? We’ve always used wheat bags instead of hot water bottles or turning the heating up. The microwave energy use is better than heating a whole house, and a water bottle will perish over time (PLEASE check the expiry date on your hot water bottle- they are actually there!). We still have wheat bags that are 20+ years still in use. So if not this product, still consider them.Retain heat? They retain heat. Hours after you heated them they still feel warm to the touch if still kept with your body. Or if you’re quickly popping out just stick it somewhere warm to keep some heat, or curl it up!Why this one? It’s been a one off purchase so far but I do think if there’s a sale on I’ll buy them as gifts and extras for us all (if you’re like me you’ll have left one in bed and not want to go and collect it so just get another one out of the cupboard!).BIGGEST SELLING POINT of this particular one- They’re stitched in a way so the wheat doesn't separate or gravitate towards one end if you hold it straight down- so the even spread of the wheat was probably the main reason I bought it.Outside!?Well this one looks like a scarf and sits well, and when walking the dog it comes in very sneakily handy!!!! Me and my mum have taken other wheat bags out walking but the wheat separates and you end up with two lumps either side of your neck!! So as I mentioned above about the way it’s stitched- you get coverage all over the back of your neck with this, too.Extras? It comes in a nice little drawstring bag of the same colour, which, isn’t really necessary but it’s the same soft material (I’d call it velvet/teddy bear). Im half wondering whether to use that material and use it to make another smaller pack? Or simply use it to store carrier bags or something. The material and stitching is lovely quality. What if you don’t want to spend so much?Make your own. My first introduction to one was home made 20+ years ago and infused with a small amount of lavender oil. Without even looking I’m sure there’ll be tutorials on YouTube, you can then choose your own materials (**please, please, check the safety of microwaving the materials you use**).Last thing! How long in the microwave?Follow the instructions but I usually go for longer after checking it, or adjust it if it’s already got residual heat/ recently been used. Tbh from the instructions I need mine a bit warmer…. Keep trying an extra 20 seconds or so and make sure it’s spread evenly on the microwave plate.*** a couple of months later, no change, still brill, still soft and hot!

Pretty Good
First thing you notice is how heavy it is. It heats nicely in the microwave. It's comfy to wear. The heat lasts awhile. The smell is okish. You get used to it. The more I have used it the less the smell is. I just wish it was more lavender. The velvet cover is really lovely. I would say if you have a large neck it wouldn't fit. I have a slim neck, it fits perfectly.

Very comfortable
It is a very useful product for neck and shoulder pain. It fits perfectly around the neck and stays warm fot about 30 mins. I emailed the vompany about storing it, as the instructions did not state that. Got a very nice and prompt reply with excellent info.

Well made and surprisingly heavy
Helps relieve tension, surprisingly heavy but that is quite comforting. I prefer it a little warmer than suggested.

Relief from neck and shoulder pain
Very easy to use with a very comfortable material. It does help with pain relief and is very soothing. I found an issue because the stitching where the beading for the neck section met the shoulder section gave way after a couple of uses. I did not want to be without this product so I repaired it carefully myself and reported the issue to the makers. They have replied and said they will now check this part of the product and production process to ensure it doesn't happen again. So if anyone out there finds that this happens to them - they have been warned.

Not great!
This item was great for the 2 days it worked and then a hole appeared in the seam and the insides fell out. I’ve tried numerous times to contact Amazon on its returns platform but it just sends me around on an endless loop asking me the same question but not telling me how to return the item.

Better than expected
My mum has one and raved about it so I decided to get one as well to help relieve muscular pain after c-spine fusion. This heat pack is absolutely levels above any others. It stays warm for the expected 30-45 minutes, however the shape of it is perfect - it fits snuggly around your neck, hangs over your shoulders to cover the top of your pecs / breasts, and covers the entire upper back - all of the spots where I’ve needed it.The quality is well made, and the wheat / beads inside are all in their own pockets and don’t migrate to other parts of the pack, meaning you don’t need to constantly manipulate the thing trying to squeeze the wheat inside where you want it to go.No more juggling multiple heat packs- this one does the job of 3.
