Alligators All Around Board Book: An Alphabet

I loved this book when I was little and wanted to share it with my kids. The book is small, as stated in the description, so that wasn't a shock or anything. The size of it is actually ok for little hands. I wish it came as a board book though. Then I would have given it 5 stars. If I knew that the "lap edition" was any bigger I would have gotten that. But I cannot tell from the description how big it is, from the reviews I get the impression its the same size as this. Which is strange, considering the lap edition would be used in libraries and school. Why would anyone want anything this small for that purpose? I didn't find the print to be so small you couldn't read it, as other reviewers have complained. Its just a very small book, so just be aware before you submit the order.

Our family has been raise on these books for three generations. Thank goodness they are still available in a quality product.

please note that this is a 'nutshell library edition' meaning that the book itself is about 3" x 4". I'm a huge Maurice Sendak fan, but when the book arrived I contacted the seller. they were great. said to keep the book and they refunded the price.

I grew up with the video "Really Rosie" by Carol King based on these books and It is wonderful! I am really enjoying reading/singing these books to my 3 year old daughter at night and she loves them too. (I got the 4 pack) and they have taught her the alphabet, (expanding her vocabulary quite a bit), the months of the year in "Chicken Soup with Rice" and to count to 10 and back again in "One was Johnny". Maurice Sendak is probably my favorite children's writer and if you know "Where the Wild Things Are" or "Little Bear" in both print and TV, these books are a must have for any parent and child. A real Treasure!

Great little book! A true alphabet book, with each word in the sentence starting with that page’s letter, plus amazing Sendak artwork!

Alligators All Around is a book that is good for children and adults. Each page shows an alligator doing something a person would normally do,making it easy for children to familiarize with and laugh at as well. The book itself is a bit small about 7"x3" which is good for kids, but not if you are trying toread and show it to a class, for example. All original artwork my Maurice Sendak (creator of Where the Wild Things Are).

This is my sons favorite book! We've tried other alphabet books before but he never really took to those like my oldest did. He's particularly fond of alligators so it was perfect for him. A couple pages are not so relatable now but my kids didn't seem to notice or care. It's really great for kids and I recommend Sendak's Nutshell Library collection to all.

I purchased this to give a visual to the Carole king song and my grandson loves it.

Great book, my son loves it and we have also found the song and animated film on YouTube Kids; which takes me back! I expected the book to be bigger but still great size for stowing away in your bag when out and about with little ones, bought this along with Chicken Soup with Rice, also by Sendak. Beautiful illustrations, great fun to read together, we love it!

Ordering this book for the second time as the first copy succumbed to tough toddler love. The illustrations are adorable, and the alphabet entries make me giggle every time. The size is perfect for toddlers.
