Much better than expected
This was a great purchase. Just what I needed to cut limbs that were too large for my pole pruner. I like the fact that the head of this is just a lightweight saw as opposed to some that are a combination pruner and saw. I also like that it has a claw at the far end of the saw that assures as you are cutting you do not slide off the limb on the down stroke, but it has no claw at the base of the blade (which some competitive saws do have). The claw at the base of the blade would just get in the way when trying to position and saw.I was worried that on limbs that were not rigid enough I would be pulling them to and fro and potentially getting the blade caught in the wood, as I tried to saw. But with judicious use of the saw, I have not had problems. But yes, if depending on where the limb/branch is attached and how much motion it has when you pull the saw across it, it would be difficult to cut with this device. So are I have successfully cut limbs up to about 2-1/2" in diameter and suspect I could go larger. The handle is easy to assemble with as many sections as you would like and completely rigid as you use it. This tool was exactly what I needed except that I should have purchased the 14' unit instead of the 10' version. Since the pole is so lightweight I think I could have easily handled that longer unit. Unfortunately Hosko does not sell the extension pieces separately. Oh well.UPDATE (2 months later) - still very happy with this saw. Today I took off some small 1-1/2" limbs and then taking turns with a friend we worked on a locust tree. It had a big limb that split off in a storm and left a nasty foot long split oval stub about 4-6" in diameter, that was 15' off the ground. It took us about 10 minutes of sawing, but we got it. A couple of times the blade stuck but I was able to work it loose. I can't say enough good things about this saw.See photos showing the stub diameter with respect to the saw, and the locust limb cut up to size (using a different hand saw then the pole saw).

Overall a good product with 1 small flaw
I ordered the 10' one and for the most part, it's a great tool. Very easy to assemble and when it's assembled the entire length, it stays pretty sturdy when you are cutting. The blade is good and I do like the hook on the end as it is sharp and helps pull the branches. The only issue is the blade is kind of flimsy and tends to bend when you cut, especially if it hits another branch. I'm looking at putting some kind of brace along the blade and bolting it at the bottom and the hole in the top to help with it.Overall, this is a great product and I'm glad I purchased.

Great product
Very easy to assemble. Easy to use. works very well. cost effective. A great buy. I used it on a palm tree. didn't have any bad issues with it. The pointy tip on the saw also makes it easy to strip excess bark from the tree. After usage it is easy to break down the pole for storage. I love this product.

Wonderful tool
This tour was simple to assemble, although I do suggest using a socket wrench and a bigger Allen screw than the one that comes in the shipment in order to get the blade really tight.I love the fact that I’m able to make the pole whatever length they want in 2 1/2 foot increments simply by screwing sections together. As you can see in the photo, I used it for a different purpose than most of the reviewers. This is a perfect tool for trimming agave from the bottom up, getting them up off the ground to discouraged rodent nesting. The blade sliced effortlessly through the agave, and the hook on the end of the blade was really helpful for cutting that last fibrous bit of agave and yanking the cutting out from under the plant. All in all, this was a perfect tool for the way I used it. I trimmed maybe 10 or 12 plants in my yard, and if I never use the tool again, it will still have been well worth the price.

Much better than extendable fiberglass poles
I had an extendable fiberglass pole for several years until the sections would no longer stay in place no matter how tightly I twisted the coupler. These poles eliminate that problem and they are lighter. The saw with the hook at the end is handy for a couple of reasons--you can use it to quickly lop off small branches and it keeps you from accidentally pulling the saw completely out of the kerf you are making in larger limbs. I now have two of these and can put them all together for one longer saw of take them apart to make a saw of whatever length I need that day.
