This adapter solved a system-restore problem I had where I needed to restore a backup on a SATA drive to an (old but mission-critical) IDE workstation: trouble was, my SATA-IDE converter had a female IDE termination which I needed to connect to a (female, of course) IDE cable. I was happy with the adapter's build quality and even happier that it solved my issue. Definitely a keeper for the "toolbox"!

Used this to reach a hard to get hard drive so we could format before sending the copier back to pasture.

Exactly as pictured and described. A standard, 1.5-inch long ribbon cable and two male 40-pin connectors. If the female side has pin 20 blanked, it won't work, but it worked well for me. This sort of thing is pretty archaic now in computer terms, but if you need one (as I did) to read an old drive, it's a lot easier than making one.

This did not work for what I wanted it to but not because it was the wrong item or defective but because I just was not able to make it work. Thanks for this
