If any American or Canadian cannot relate to these yarns, she or he has a hole where a heart ought to be -- as Dr. Seuss might say. Listen, maybe with mist in your eyes, and ease into a comfortable chair or hammock, with an iced tea [or whatever] in your hand. Go ahead, close your eyes, but don't fall asleep until the CD starts to replay. In short, enjoy reminiscing the life that you know is somewhere deep inside you.

My husband and I were introduced to Garrison Keillor's humor a good many years ago. My husband was a sales engineer (retired now) which required him to travel quite a lot. One day he happened to listen to Garrison addressing the Washington Press Club. My husband was laughing so much that he had tears in his eyes and couldn't see the road and had to pull off for safety reasons. We love "Tomato Butt", all the Rhubarb stories, etc. If Amazon or anyone else has the story about the uncle who prayed so long and cried, we would love to have it.

I have not heard a Garrison Keillor comedy sketch that was not funny and engaging. He knows the lingo and has the timing to bring one into the environment and to like the characters. That cowboy movie years ago was a ho-hum for me, but I like his recordings and want to go back to them over and over.

Was expecting a used CD but it was brand new still in wrapping, haven't played it yet but I know it will be wonderful. Came much quicker than expected, so far a great purchase. I have yet to be dissapointed. Thank you.

Bought this for my mom who is still living in Minnesota. We both laughed so hard listening to each of the tracks. We can still relate to the stories from the early 1990s even though it's 2013!

I listend to this on a car trip with an older friend. We both laughed and enjoyed the stories. Good clean fun.

just such a fun entertaining way to sit and relax with a hot cup of cocoa and listen to stories that could be right from one's own hometown growing up .

Garrison Keillor gets good write ups on his stuff. They are memorable for him and he tells them as stories, very funny. I have 1 item of his and decided to try another this had a good review.
