Really enjoying the storyline

I MAY HAVE SEEN THIS ON TV BUT I HAVE NOW BROGHT THE COMPLTE SERIES TO REWATCH AT A LATER DATE

A weird, futuristic style programme that is about saving the population from extinction by using women who have previously given birth to healthy babies in their past to create new life to save the population. It has very good acting. I enjoyed it, even though at some points I squirmed as some scenes are difficult to watch and i did cry a few times through all the series watching someone utterly helpless suffering in various ways. The underlying theme is that women are being raped by men (with their wives physically holding the women down) that are "high up in the food chain" which for most people is a difficult subject without having to also witness the acts in a show. There is a lot of violence against women. A lot of violence in general. It's a strange one that even though the topics in the show are difficult to watch I did thoroughly enjoy it and couldn't wait to see what happened in the next series. I would say that it's not a show for someone who would struggle to watch extremely distressing scenes.

Absolutely had us on the edge of our chairs in each episode - looking forward to the next season!

A bit of a mixed bag. As a fan of 1-3 I couldn't wait for season 4 but some episodes were a bit of a let down, but only some. Overall this was good follow up with potential for season 5.

Was too impatient to wait for it to be free - £20 well spent though!

I have been hooked since the very start and still going. Every episode is an so emotional! A times I have had to pause as it was just so tense. Superb acting by everyone. By far the best program I've seen.

Margaret Atwood- the originator of the novel from which the series came- said that none of the mistreatment of women in the book (or series) was made up.,These things had all been done to women sometime and someplace. Including the U.K. and Europe. Watching the news about the plight of Afghani women as the Taliban take over again and watching THMT series 4 in tandem makes me cry. But I doubt our governments will be as compassionate and welcoming to Afghani refugees as the Canadian government is in the series.

These seasons are awesome, I own all 5.

Cette série décrivant l'histoire d'un gouvernement sectaire qui exploite, entre autres, des servantes écarlates, m'a plu dès le début. Dans la saison 4, le suspense continue et on se demande toujours comment ça se terminera. J'attends l'arrivée de la saison 5 avec impatience!

Ich mag diese Serie... Man muss sie mögen. Geschmäcker sind verschieden.
