Backstory: I have a coworker who is always coming over to my desk and using the standard plastic garbage bin as a very unstable place to sit. I figured I might as well find something for him to sit on that I can easily store next to my desk.I saw products like this in videos and figured I would give it a shot. It's actually very impressive. It can hold a lot of weight, it's really sturdy and it collapses small enough to fit into my desk drawer. The stool also locks shut so it won't open accidentally. I have considered purchasing additional ones for my garage or car just to have on hand. I believe it was marketed for camping, but I would say there are many more uses for it (Maybe you have a craft where you need to be sitting for a while (electrician/plumber), or your want to go tailgating, or you have a coworker that needs to stop damaging garbage bins around the office).I would definitely recommend this product for others to purchase.

I love to skateboard, but due to the wear and tear on my body, I prefer to sit and rest more than before, and there's not always a good place to sit. A friend brought his stool and afterwards, several of us now have one. But, I paid more (just a couple of dollars more) that the others and got the hard plastic seat, while the others have a padded chair. I might just go ahead and order one for the wife with the padded seat cover and use it myself! Very convenient, fits easily into my bag that I use for my skateboard stuff, and very light and easy to set up. I would recommend for those who like to hike. The friend got it for his wife and himself because they enjoy "birding"--that's what he called it.

Item collapsed on me two times today and I fell to the ground hurting my back. I weigh 200 lbs and it would not hold my weight at all. I started hearing a popping noise and boom, next thing I knew I was on the ground on my back. So stupid me I folded it all back and examined it to see if all the tabs were in place and tried it once again. I thought it was working but 2 minutes later it did it again, but this time it hurt my back when I fell backwards. This thing is dangerous and should not be sold.

You must sit straight down, the instructions say this. If you sure sideways, like I did, it collapses. The fix was easy, just pull it fully open. I did have to buy a nice pad to sit on because I sit a long time.

I really like the size and portability of this stool. It is easy to extend out for sitting on. It is easy to adjust the height to whatever you want it to be.However, I do have some questions about how reliable the stool is once it is extended. I've had more than a few times when I extended the stool, put it down on the floor, put my hands on the top and put some weight on it, and the stool would slip down a couple of notches. If it only happened once or twice, I would assume it was me. But, it happened more times than that. And, it happened more than a couple times with my husband as well.Those times when I made sure that all of the 'notches' were securely in the right place, then I didn't have a problem. But, it does make me nervous to have other people (especially my mom) use it.

I ordered this for short sits out on the porch. Its not meant to be super comfortable but when you sit on it, it really feels sturdy. I'm very impressed by the very simple support design and unless it breaks I'll be happy with my purchase.
