Excellent, Compelling Writing, But Very Disturbing Subject Matter... Parental Guidance
This novella is a very professionally authored work. I found it to be a completely enthralling "page turner". However the subject matter was very disturbing. There were times I could not read another page, and at the same time I could not put it down. It was witnessing a terrible accident. I could not look and I could not turn away. I suppose that is what great writing is.In the course of this novella, a fugitive receives some professional assistance from Banker, Andy Dufresne, which of course is the name of the protagonist in a prior Stephen King novella, "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption". This story takes some of the shine off of the reputation of Andy Dufrense from the prior novella. That had to be intentional of course. When I write reviews, I am always fearful of being a "spoiler". The story involves a relationship between a evil old person and a youth. The story devolves into a real horror story. There are a lot of terrible acts described. But the truth is, I could not put it down. I am senior citizen. I have not read a lot of Stephen King. I do want to study his work further. I may be too conservative. But I will NEVER recommend this story to a youthful reader. Thank You...

Some of his better work
A really enjoyable read though the ending was rushed and disappointing.I'd never heard of this book before but I would recommend it.

A well written story is the most important and this book is a bit "thin", Have not read it yet although so I still have hope for a good story.

Gripping, exciting, disturbing, love it!
As always Stephen King brought his main characters to life. Story is disturbing, terrifying and mind blowing.

Great first 3/4, ending is abrupt and not as good.
As above, says it all really. Worth a read though, for sure.
