A Must Have Coloring Book
Adorable! I was so happy with Lori's Book Angry Octopus that I ordered the coloring book for my daughter. What a smart thing to accompany the book with a coloring book. My daughter and I sat down the first day we got it and read the whole thing before she picked pages to color in. After reading through, and the book as well, I made sure not to worry about whether the parts she colored were "perfect" ! There is child-relatable advice to bring down stress and calm yourself. Just like her book, I found myself learning techniques as well. Lori is so creative and intuitive towards what kids would relate to. I cannot wait to start diving into her other books as well. I recommend ordering the book to accompany the coloring book !

Thank you!
I bought this coloring book for a friend and here is her review:"Thank you so much for this fun and soothing coloring book. My grandson and I enjoyed the large pictures for coloring and I read the poems to him as he was coloring. Thanks again, Mary and Mateo, age 2-1/2".

Great for all kids 5-10!
I introduced Angry Octopus Color Me Happy, Color Me Calm to children at my after school program (ages 5-10) and no matter their age they enjoyed it. The suggestions for managing big feelings and stress were easy to implement and we tried many of them together. The illustrations and techniques started many conversations and improved self awareness.

Color me HAPPY
This book is so adorable, It isn't only for children but also for adults. I've always enjoyed coloring and a typical coloring book you just color and that's it. This has a story within. Each page represents its own story. It's genuinely creative. I got the first book for my niece and just had to get this one. We love spending the time together to color in it while I read her the stories.

This coloring book is full of positive affirmations and fun pictures to color.
This coloring book is full of positive affirmations and fun pictures to color. Each 2-page layout has a great advice bubble and an accompanying picture to color. The pictures are all very emotive and capture the essence of the affirmations perfectly. The pictures are simple, allowing each one to be finished in a sitting, which is very satisfying. The flow of the lines is very pleasant and they add to the overall calming effect of the book. Each page of this delightful book offers a mini-mindful moment including a progressive muscle relaxation script, yoga, visualization, a bubble thought exercise and gratitude pages along with a variety of other ways to connect mindfulness to your senses, functions, emotions, and activities such as dance, listening to music and exercise. The book itself allows for lots of space to breathe and to express yourself creatively. I love how it touches on so many ways to experience mindfulness. This book offers both young and old coping skills to help calm anxiety and bring about peace of mind. Coloring is proven to be a great calming activity and is a great way for families to enjoy some quiet together time. I highly recommend this book for families, therapists, yoga classes (which is what I will be using it for) and for anyone else who wants to access their creativity and share calming strategies with children. How I will use this book:In my yoga/mindful movement classes, I love to offer many avenues to my students to absorb coping skills. This book will come in super handy when I need an activity that passively activates the still quiet place inside where peace abides and anxiety is dissipated.

I also know that kids learn best through play
As a nurse who works with children, a mom who moms, and a writer who writes about parenting experiences, I am always talking to parents. I am very familiar with how much children's stress is effecting them and in turn, parents. I also know that kids learn best through play. And play is what they do with this book, even as they are learning effective stress management techniques. You can't get a better deal! An added bonus for me has been that my own favorite stress-down techniques have been reinforced and I've found myself using them more often (it's the coloring that does that). The images are FUN, the techniques are simply stated. Kids love to try them! Sometimes they even wind up giggling instead of stressing. Sometimes they wind up talking about 'it'. In other words, the book is a springboard for real problem solving or just letting go of the stress. With a little bit of prompting from someone other than the parents, it's amazing how good children become at letting it (the stress) go. And you get to say, "I wonder what the Angry Octopus would suggest."There's stress techniques in here for the naturally calm child, for those that just have to move, or those that like concepts or maybe just like to feel. It's fun to see which strategies your child starts to use. The coloring connects their feelings to a stress reduction technique, so they use the technique they color and it tends to stick. Go, Lori. Brilliant!

Awesome for my kids and myself
I could not wait to get this after finding Lori on Twitter. My name is Marisa Antonia Viano and I ordered this under my mothers account. I have two children that come from a divorced home and one of my children suffers from ADHD and Dyslexia. As a single mother with shared fifty/fifty custody one week with me and one week with their father times can be challenging for my kids and I. This book and the words on the pages allows my family to interact and participate all together coloring and reading words of greatness that gives each of us confidence. My son especially and I now have something to work on that is fun and interacting we do together. I recommend this for any family to use as a great tool to interact with your child or children. My son suffers from anxiety and loves the concept. I am so honored to have connected with the author via twitter and to have found this book. Such a calming, therapeutic, and fun activity for all of us. Me included.

Great for self-regulation
I am a pediatric occupational therapist and have been using "Angry Octopus" in my practice for 7 years. It is a resource that is loved by parents and kids and teachers. I recently learned about this book and bought it to use with my son. It's a fantastic book that has daily activities to help regulate children's feelings and energy and it also allows them to colour how they are feeling that day. An excellent product for those looking at ways to help children relax and destress!
