Worked great for what I wanted it for so far. I bought this unit because I have a rather large fish tank that houses a turtle. Consequently I have to change ALL the water often. I've tried pumps I got at the fish store but found them ineffiecient, especially the one that you hook to your hose and run the water to create suction. Wastes a lot of additional water with the water in the tank. I bought this to be able to empty as much water from the tank as possible in a reasonable time. With the suction plate that it comes with, I get nearly all the water out of the tank in a reasonable amount of time. I've used it on my tank and my pond that I temporarily keep the turtle during cleanings and had no issues. It is a bit noisy in that it whines, but most pumps of this style make similar noise, and its only on for the short time needed to empty each. As for durability, only time will tell. My guess is that those that had issues didn't lubricate the impellor before use as directed. When dry, like when it's not primed, the impeller can heat up quickly. This isn't a problem once the fluid is flowing, but while first sucking up the fluid without being primed it will heat up quickly and probably deform since the impellor appears to be plastic or rubber.

I gave it a 4-star because it doesn't have an on/off switch, you have to plug/unplug, but outside of that, for nearly 10 years I went back and forth with a bucket to the toilet ... but I wanted a 100gal tank and I knew i couldn't be doing that at 60 - my kids watch me with wonder each week as I clean the tanks. People love aquariums but don't want to do the work, its intimidating. Finally I found this pump. The only advice I ever get is from my neighborhood Asian store and Youtube videos. This was a good buy .. I bought a 50ft water hose, and I water my plants front and back with the water.. My 45gal tank is for small fish who WONT STOP HAVING BABIES .. so I can't use for that tank because I don't want them to get sucked-up, but the 55 and 100 gal. tanks are no problem. Water flows good, a little noisy but no big deal, price is cheap compared to convenience. Go ahead, buy it!

(More of a 4.6 star, but...rounding up) I bought this pump to move water out of a pond. So far, I've about 10,000 gallons through it, about an hour each time, and it's been fine. The housing gets hot but not scalding, but I'm also moving 55 degree water, which may help to keep it from overheating. It is an annoying motor sound, but I don't stay beside it - since it doesn't have a power switch, I can instead sit beside the power outlet. I bought this instead of other models partially due to it having a supplied hose with a somewhat filtered triangle intake head. I would like it to have variable speed, but probably most people want to pump as much water in as little time as possible. I have burned out one impeller, and of course can't find the replacement one that came with it. However, for those who need them - this impeller works fine in it: B09WMQ8PDL For the money, it seems dependable - the impeller burnout was my fault.

Worked great the first time I used it but needed to replace the impeller the second time which they do include a replacement with the pump. That wore out and when I contacted the manufacturer they said they do not offer the impeller for sale separately and I would need to purchase a new pump. Very frustrating because it clearly says in the description replaceable impeller, just doesn't say you can't buy it. Tried finding a generic impeller, they sell for about 4 dollars but this company makes their shaft smaller so generic isn't an option. So after spending $59 I got to use it twice and it is now in the scrap pile.

My water pump that I had purchased a little while back died out on me and thankfully I had boughten a warranty coverage at purchase, customer support was EXTREMELY helpful and got a new pump sent out right away that works MARVELOUSLY! Thank you so much Acquaer! 10/10

Compré esta bomba para sacar agua de un tinaco. Lo usé solo 2 veces y funcionó bien. La tercera ya no succionó el agua. Quedé muy decepcionado.

Best water transfer pump Quick Portable Very reliable Easy to hook up and transfer water fast

Was very surprised by the size(quite small) of this transfer pump. It works very well, very easy to start and does an extremely good job Pleased with purchase and would buy from this seller again.

The pump itself works fine, but it’s somewhat complicated to set up. As it turned out, it was too complicated for me and I sent the product back. It might be useful for other applications, but I was using it for small amounts of water in water features and fountains.

Probably the worst performing item I have ever purchased through Amazon. The instant it was plugged in, it blew a breaker and blue flame shot out of the motor, followed by black smoke. It continued to smoke for over a minute. The pump never actually ran. It died the instant it was plugged in. We did not try again.
