The best Video to Digital Converter for the price.
Item arrived on time in new condition !!! No damage and nothing missing. The Stand alone (no computer needed) Video to Digital Converter. Was Easy to Use, It has HDMI in/out, AV in/out, USB and SD ports. The Screen looks beautiful, The sound through the Two speakers (stereo) is good, The Battery charged by AC adapter or 5V USB. You can Capture HD (1080P) video & audio from a Computer, DVD, TV's, Cable Box, X Box, into video files. The output video quality is excellent...I am very happy with the performance, better than I expected, I highly recommend.

Would not format SD card
I was really excited about this but it did NOT work. I thought the recommended SD card and formatted it in the machine. Every time it went back to main screen it said please format card. I even tried the card they sent with it and got same issue. However when I checked both cards on my Mac both were formatted using Fat. Support could not help and told me maybe machine is defective 🙄. After two days of trying I said forget it and returned it.

What I ordered
The Digitnow was what I needed to record videos from my 715c Auquavu underwater camera. The camera worked fine but was an older model that had no recording capability. Aquavu wanted $149.00 to record to your phone but was not available. The Digitnow records directly to the device and saves the underwater video. Great product!

Good thing
This looks nice. On video review somebody is saying aluminum body, in fact is plastic. Anyway, nice boxing, all cables you need and works well for now. Only thing I dislike, no battery indicator, you don't know if charging or not or battery status. I give 4 starts only for battery.

Don't buy
Does it "work"? Sometimes. I sent the first one back because it would only record sound. They sent me a new one. I ended up tossing aside the adapters that came with the product and using ones that I had on hand in order for it to record video. If you have your own adapters, only then will you finally be able to get the product to "work" ; however, it will LOCK up and need to be reset by sticking a small pointy object in the back reset button every other minute. DO NOT BUY this product. Did it work, sure - but you have to sit and watch and reset and mess with it over and over again as you are recording old video camera clips. I am sure there are better less "buggy" products out there that cost the same or probably less.

Records in .MOV format - I would prefer .MP4
I have been a long-time (amateur) video editor. I got my first video camera in the early 80s and one of the first things I did after that was purchase a video capture card for my PC. I have used just about every type of PC based capture card. (Analog, Fire Wire and many different USB devices) I always hated tying up my PC while it was copying a long tape. When I saw this was a standalone device, I thought it would be an ideal solution to just hook up to VCR and then transfer the files from the memory card to my PC. I found that it's not really a set it and forget it device. It seems that when there are breaks of un-recorded space on the tape it shuts itself down assuming there is no more to come. Also after copying a very long tape (VHS recorded in EP) at some point it stopped recording the Audio! So if you are recording long tapes you have to periodically check on it. One of my pet peeves about all video recording devices is that that all want to use a different recording format. (My GoPro and my phone record in two different formats.) This unit records in the .MOV format which is primarily used by Apple. I use a PC with Premier Elements and Videowave neither of which can edit .MOV files so I have to convert these files into .MP4 format to be compatible. If you just want to copy your old tapes and play them back it's no big deal but if you want to edit you have to make sure that your editor can work with those files or you will spend additional time reformatting. What I liked about this was that it supported both A/V input as well as HDMI input and output! I am not "unhappy with it but it is less than ideal for my purposes.

Very easy to use! A very cool device! Almost perfect!
Really liked this device. Captures my 8mm, MiniDV, VHS, desktop easily. SD or USB storage option are great to have. Acts like a mini monitor, a nice surprise. Built-in battery, too!!! Like that it takes HDMI and Composites, both IN and OUT. ... a keeper!

Will not record the audo portion of my video.
Video works great from my Sony DVR-TRV19 camera. But there is NO audio. I tested the audio out onanother video player and the audio works fine.
