Salty Kisses: Christy & Todd: the Baby Years #2

Robin Jones Gunn is such a wonderful writer. Like most people, I have discovered her writings with the Christy Miller series when I was a young teenager. Luckily for me, I have grown up with Christy Miller, even if the ages don't actually match the years anymore. She should be in her forties, not in her late twenties, but that is the joy of being an author. You can tell the story from any time period and get away with it. But with her latest story, Salty Kisses, I felt like I was plopped right back into the lives of Christy and Todd with no problem. There were moments of smiling and excitement as Todd and Christy met some new friends that appeared in the Glenbrooke series or met up with old friends from Christy teenage years. It was delightful, and I LOVE returning to Christy and Todd's life. This book is definitely going to be a keeper with all my other Robin Jones Gunn's books. I can't wait for Sunset Lullaby to see what has happened to Christy and Todd.

Excellent as always! I couldn't put it down and can't wait for the next one. I started with the Christy Miller series when I was a teen and love how these books have been relevant to each stage of life along with mine. Now as young Mom, I identify with Christy's life. There's some good biblical encouragement in each book, too. Can't say enough good things and I hope Robin Jones Gunn continues to write for long time to come!

As always, a good read from Robin! I love how the story of Christy and Todd is still going! Hoping that there is a collection for each stage in life! I have grown up with Christy and Iam always encouraged and find a new perspective from each book.

As a young mother, it is hard to find books that realistically address what life can be like for a young mother today. The challenges that Christy and Todd face as parents, and as a couple in this new season are familiar! I really hope this series continues as so many novels end with a relationship's beginning, and it is edifying to read about the real nuts and bolts of life - family, growth, entering new stages of life....

Now in the same season as Christy, after reading along through my teen years into my adulthood, each additional book brings me back to a place of friendship and Jesus-filled wisdom. I'm so thankful for these books that have spoken Truths about the gospel in a "real" life context!

I have been a Christy Miller fan since I was a teenager. Now I love sharing her story with my daughters. And I love that Robin Jones Gunn is continuing to write about these characters!

I love that the series has continued. I feel like I've grown up right along with Christy.

Another great book by Robin Jones Gunn! She has a way with words that makes you not want to put the book down until you are finished. I loved how they were able to catch up with old friends like Doug and Tracy and even see a new side of Christy's brother. A very good read and I encourage anyone who loves the Christy Miller series to read it!

My daughters and I have read the whole series. It is brilliant for teenagers it is true to life and reflects the troubles they can have but shows them how to lead a good teenage life. We have loved bed reading about Christie and growing up with her.

My Salty Kisses book arrived last Wednesday, and though it was a busy time, I've already finished it. It's always bittersweet, as I can't wait to get to the end, and I hate the thought of the book ending. This story was no different. What a delight to read each stage of Todd and Christy's journey, and to meet up with so many "old" friends again too. I so appreciate the way Robin's writing touches my heart, each and every time I read what she's written. There are always precious nuggets of deep truth that I add to my "special words to remember" book. And each time, she shares God's truth in such powerful and relevant ways. Excellent story, beautifully written. Highly recommended.
