This small solar panel works as advertised. Don't expect too much from it though. The Solar Charge Controller is rated for 10 Amps output, but there is no way you are going to get that while attached to this solar panel. They don't claim you will either. The solar panel is rated for 10 W at 18V giving 560 mA of current output. At 13.4 V charging, you could expect about 800 mA charging current. I actually got 600 mA of current out of the panel while charging a battery on a very sunny day at the optimal angle to the sun. I was happy with that. If you need 10 Amps output, you'll have to connect the solar charge controller to about a 100W panel.One interesting thing that I noticed. While it works well on a sunny day, on a cloudy day it bearly works at all. Also, if you have any shadows on the panel on a sunny day it will output little. If you have a vertical or horizontal shadow that covers about a quarter of the panel, the panel will output almost nothing. The point is, panel placement is key to getting this to work and if not fully in the sun, don't expect to actually charge any thing with it.

****** After seeing the below review, the seller contacted me. They offered, on their own, to send a replacement. The replacement arrived in perfect condition. I might be wrong, but I do not believe that these folks are the manufacturer. They are selling a product sent to them in boxes and they are not seeing the finished product being sent out. Even though this issue was not their fault (and I did not expect them to replace it) they stepped up and made the order good. In bright sun, the panel is putting out full voltage and there are no issues with the replacement at all. Because of their support my review will be a 5 star one as they volunteered to fix an issue that really wasn't theirs.Arrived in a perfect box. Post office did their part of the job well. Right out of the box, the cell array has damaged/broken cells that were sort of stuck back together and not even in a way to match. Wiring is cut/broken and this cell is not going to produce any power and may also have broken the connection to other cells around it. In another area, the cell material is badly gouged and it is visibly damaged. All of this is under the glass surface of the finished product so this was shipped this way to the supplier from the manufacturer and, assuming it was in the box at the time, not something the seller would see as they don't open boxed to check product. Poor quality control on the part of the maker. There is no mounting bracket included with this and mounting it will be a bit of a trick. There is only the aluminum frame of the array with some holes drilled in it. Their slightly larger one has a mounting bracket with it so you can set it up. The smaller one needs to have the same. The wire attached to it to run to your battery and controller is too short. A decent length of wire is needed to be able to correctly place it in an ideal spot and be able to reach the controller and battery where they are secured.. The 3 stars are for the poor quality control and a unit sent that was visibly defective. The rest of it is just inconveniences in buying the smaller unit instead of one slightly bigger. There is power coming from the array but no way to tell if 100% of the cells are functioning. Certainly the one cut in two is not.

Update- a simple reset by unplugging and plugging back in with the battery got the system recharging and working again. Could have been the weather letting the battery get too low and then the BMS stopped it from discharging too low, shutting off the system. More learning to do on my part. Eco-worthy sent me a message right after I posted the first review to promptly replace the charging unit if need be. They are definitely willing to make it right!I will see what happens during the next big rain storm, but I think it was just too cloudy for the smaller solar panel. The storm had passed and it is keeping up, curretly. I have purchased a 25w panel and will hang that this next weekend to see if that helps during the winter months.Original post-Well, we had a good 6 months of service from the solar charge controller, then one day it just quit sending any voltage to the battery. Lithium battery is now flat and the poor, poor chickens got stuck inside their coupe. Solar panel is fine, battery is fine. Luckily the auto chicken door has a AA battery back up pack to get the door open manually. You get what you pay for.

I got this panel to go with my automatic chicken coop door. I was initially pretty disappointed that there’s no way to mount the solar panel, not even holes since it didn’t come with a mount. I had to design a mount for the wall myself. It worked well for about three weeks now it’s not charging my brand new battery. I bought this in conjunction with the recommended door and battery. I’ve left a couple of messages and no one has gotten back to me. Pretty disappointed so far.

We purchased 2 of these setups for automating some chicken coop doors. One set works perfectly but the charge controller with the 2nd set doesn't work consistently and it allows the 12v battery to drain overnight. We're purchasing 2 news controllers that are better quality and will be replacing both of the ones from these kits. It seems that others are also having trouble with the contoller so buyer beware. If you get a faulty controller you may need to return the entire kit and just buy individual components. But if you get a good controller the setup works beautifully.

I mounted this on top of a 50 Cal. ammo box and put the controller and a 12V battery inside. The cable runs through a water tight cable grip.

For the very low cost this kit is actually quite good. Yes, it’s only 5w of output so expectations need to be realistic - this is a good option to maintain a large battery or recharge a small battery from very minor discharges. To expect it to charge a 50 or 100ah battery quickly as some seem to suggest in their reviews is entirely unrealistic.This style of panel also needs a direct angle to the sun. Simply laying it flat with the sun on a 45 degree angle from the panel will not result in peak charge rates. I installed it directly aimed at the suns angle on the horizon this time of year and saw an immediate rise in the voltage of my 100ah camper battery, so I know it’s charging.The charge controller worked fine, albeit it is a simple model, but again, for the price, I’m just happy it included one.I’ll update this review if anything changes.

Easy set up, good instructions. The controller and panel work great together charging my 12 volt battery.

It works OK, not quite as strong as I had hoped it would he. Got it for our trolling motor on the boat. It is a little slow, but we know that so we just are prepared for it

Initially setup was easy once I found a youtube video. Instructions in the box were in Jinglish. Seems to do what it says. Charges better in direct sunlight of course but does a good job of trickle charging a stored vehicle as long as it's in the sunlight obviously.Controller stopped working after just 3 weeks of it sitting on a car dash inside the vehicle.
