Artist Woodless Pure Charcoal Pencils - Ultra Soft and Dark – 6pc Set Equivalent to 25+ Regular Pencils – Smooth Consistency on All Drawing Papers

This is the best charcoal pencil I've used in 40 years. It's soft and very black to the paper, yet it doesn't crack or crumble. It's easy to sharpen with a little manual sharpener and doesn't break while sharpening. It's just perfect.

These are great charcoal pencils. I love the darkness of charcoal in my drawings. There sharpness works well with details.

I finally found some really soft and malleable compressed charcoal, it smudges easily and has very fine structure, yet sticks well to the paper, makes some perfect velvety blacks. There is also a perceivable difference between the different hardnesses. I like it very much.

Love the hard, shiny outer casing but the charcoal inside isn't labeled line I'd think. The softest stick is medium at best, and the medium and firm sticks are too hard to be useful. Still it's cheap and clean, and I can use the softer ones.

After using the pencils last night, I had to write a review. Pencils are so good I don’t want to use another kind again.They are so black I barely have to layer thick charcoal for the desired depth of tone.Tone: all three hardness, “regular, soft, super soft,“ are all able to produce dark black tone easily. With the regular hardness pencil, I really have to press lightly to get a lighter tone.They are the first woodless pencils I’ve used, but I’m thoroughly impressed with the grip of the coating and ease of use.

These pencils shade and smudge better than any charcoal I’ve ever used. The depth of dark tones that you can achieve is amazing. I won’t be using anything but these for the foreseeable future. Best of the best!

I have been waiting to get these for a long time! I'm so glad they're finally available, and much higher quality than I expected. Rich dark color, extra soft quality and so much more charcoal than a regular pencil, without getting your hands as dirty as with a woodless pencil. The case is cute and compact, easy to take with you anywhere. I will probably never buy any other type again!

When my daughter asked for “real artists pencils” for her birthday, I jumped on Amazon and quickly realized that there were so many different types of pencils! I got overwhelmed and just threw these in my basket and I’m so glad I did! She was so excited, and has been creating works of art, that stand apart from her previous work with these pencils! Thank you for such a quality product at a great price point!

J’adore ce genre de fusain sans bois. J’aime les différentes tendretés. Essayer hier dans mon atelier de dessin. Permet beaucoup de contrôle sur la pression. Ne tache pas les doigts surtout.

not satisfied with these pencils.

the lifetime is greater than the wood charcoal pencil and can be easily do microscopic chips on my page using the sharpener (and i pass a brush on it for to do a diffused background)..

Arrived a day late but in very good condition. The tray holds the pencils tight and no pencils were broken. They are nice charcoal pencils, smooth and blendable. I prefer woodless charcoal pencils , easier to sharpen and I can save the shavings in a jar for later use. I would buy again unless the price goes too high. I know it says you can use any sharpener but I have had previous experience with other woodless pencils and I recommend a good hand held sharpener.
