Big disappointment
The book is small and poorly illustrated. Not appealing to kids. I expected something totally different.

Not engaging for young kids
Mythology has such great stories. This book didn’t really engage well. And there are no pictures or images for kids. Such a missed opportunity! It’s a synopsis of stories- maybe if a kid needs a quick report done this book could be helpful.

helpful overview
Kindle Edition.Greek Mythology is vast and complex and therefore a challenge to write about. This book does a competent job of giving an overview but often feels more like a recitation than a coherent narrative. The tone is conversational but often borders on pedantic, and the subject matter is delivered in a fairly dry manner. It tells rather than demonstrates the richness of the mythology and lacks the elegance that can engage the reader in this complicated topic. I found the somewhat didactic tone unengaging, and frequently stories were referred to but not explored. Given the breadth of the material, this is not surprising, but it does not make for captivating reading.“Jason’s story is rather long, but is worth reading, as it has several smaller stories in it. Greek myth is sometimes quite complex, with many smaller plots interwoven. But the stories, whether small or big, are all fascinating.“The fascination does not come through in this work, and in fact, the discussion misses the mark in not addressing how Greek culture reflected fear of the gods as a motivating factor and a belief that the gods interacted with humans and each other in a transactional manner. Consequently, the gruesomeness of the tales comes through without the balance of poetic imagery, and the result is a somewhat queasy reading experience.Overall, this is a helpful general description or reference, but not an enjoyable read.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Cool book, not great for young kids
It's a cool book with great stuff, but stories and the words are a little too grown up for smaller kids.
