I’m not sure yet if it works for dark spots but it does leave my skin soft after a shower. DO NOT accidentally get it on an open wound!!!! In my case it was a part of my new tattoo that was just having a hard time healing. When I say it burned sooooo badly I mean BURNEDDDD.
