Such a romance is not something I want to read again.
One of the many books I eagerly awaited this year was Dating Dr. Dil. I anticipated a charming Desi romantic comedy with imperfect protagonists. I'm not sure what the author's intention was, but the plot is incoherent and the characters are bland.Dating Dr. Dil is a story about enemies becoming lovers with a touch of fake dating. Prem and Kareena's relationship is based solely on lust, and I could not see any love there. Additionally, they are both really obnoxious. The male lead was the worst. I've never seen a male character as cringe-worthy as him. Overly sexualized feelings, unneeded smut, and other things were present.Such a romance is not something I want to read again.

A Desi Romance That Barely Hits The Mark đź‘€
(Voluntarily reviewed a physical copy of the book on For The Love of Fictional Worlds)For the modern day Indian girls who have grown up with US TV shows and who find themselves careening between the traditions of Indian Culture and the modern Fay wants - will find a kindered sister in the MC - Kareena; a woman who apparently is by her sell by date because she is still u married - not that her successful career or her wants for a love marriage; have any sort of importance to her family; just that she is unmarried at her age.•On the other hand, we have Prem - a successful TV doctor who doesn’t believe in love at all.•The attraction between Prem and Kareena is instantaneous, enough that they are pretty okay with going into a fake relationship for their own reasons.•A south East Asian or a Desi romance is my kryptonite - and while Dating Dr Dil has aspects that I certainly enjoyed and had me hooked to the book; I really wish a crush on a hot desi fictional book boyfriend had bern one of them. 🫣•Still, we have a strong character like Kareena and hilariously relatable secondary characters, this us still an enjoyable romance to read.

Cute story!
This is a such a cute story! This is an enemies to lovers romcom set within the Indian culture in the US. We get to see dating/marriage customs, family dynamics delicious food and traditional outfits. The author is so descriptive that you feel like you are part of it! I really enjoyed everything about this book! The characters weren’t perfect, they have their own views and ideas that clash. Its the idea of love that sustains Kareena, and Prem’s past has tainted his view love. But a lot of chemistry flies around and they work through their issues together and bam we have a cute love story!I highly recommend and can’t wait to read the next book and follow their friends story!

Not my fave
I had high hopes for this book, really thought I’d love it. But I feel like there’s too many characters, I found it really confusing to know who was who and what purpose they had. I don’t feel that Kareena & Prem needed so many friends & family involved. I loved the chemistry between Kareena & Prem, although Prem was given the cold-shoulder more times than he deserved. Actions speak louder than words for Prem, he was the perfect man 99% of the time and I found the sisters story a bit pointless. Overall, I’d say this book is a nice light-hearted read but it’s not the easiest to follow with so many characters appearing throughout!

An ok read
This was a nice easy read. It wasn't ground breaking and sometimes I found parts a little jarring... sometimes things felt out of character or out of the flow of the story. But it was a nice gentle romance.

Couldn’t quite relate.
I enjoyed the book. The writing flowed well and I really liked the desi cultural aspects. However, I found that I couldn’t quite relate to the heroine and the fact that she was so hung up on those “three little words”.**possible spoiler**I’m more of a believer that actions speak louder than words, and often it’s easy for people to say I love you but then treat you like crap. So why can’t people just show love through their actions? And since this was the main conflict/issue in the book, it meant that the whole book fell flat for me.I realise that a lot of people need words of affirmation to feel love, but since I don’t, I couldn’t relate.
