The Nice House on the Lake Vol. 1

Lost-ish
A group of thirty-somethings united by a common friend find themselves invited to a remote house to sit out the apocalypse. Lost-ish group drama that’s strong on WTF moments and on asking lots of questions. Told with its writer’s usual confidence: it’ll be fascinating to see where this is going. Issues 1-6 collected here.

One of my comics of the year
The Nice House on the Lake, has to be one of my comics of the last year. An absolutely engrossing story coupled together with atmospheric and beautiful art. I can’t wait to see where this one goes next. If you love suspense and horror comics, this is a must pick up

I need more. MORE!
It feels like a well written love letter to x-files with a sprinkle of lovecraft thrown in. Cannot wait to get my hands on volume 2!

Terribly disappointing
There is one idea for a story in the first issue and that's it. For the next five issues: No plots, nothing really happens or at least nothing interesting. You don't get to care for the characters, it stays on the level of "that gay couple", "that trans person" and so on. And the one interesting story idea in issue 1 feels like a warmed up remake of "The Bunker". This series is unfortunately just a dead end, stay away from it. Pity.
