Excellent Subwoofer - Highly Recommend
What can I say, this subwoofer is impressive beyond words. After completing the break in period, I could not believe the sound quality and performance from the Skar EVL-18. I am running this sub with a Crown XLS 1502 in bridged mode (1500 watts RMS), and this sub hits hard and sounds fantastic. I matched this sub with a Harmony Audio HA-BV1X18E subwoofer box, and use this for my home theater setup. This is my first Skar purchase, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for great sound at a reasonable cost. This single sub shakes my house with authority, and I am already considering buying a 2nd EVL-18 for maximum home theater enjoyment. Job well done Skar Audio, I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Slams like a freight train!
Snagged this because I've always wanted an 18" sub. Was not disappointed!First thing first, this speaker is HUGE! Doesn't look like it so much when it arrives in the box, but open that box and be amazed. Solid construction. Good basket design. Easy to install.Box is a custom build one from a local audio shop (I don't have the tooling to build these). We went big so it'll slam on those lower notes. Makes Rap, Hip-Hop, and Techno hit like a sledge to the face. Still trying to dial it in for Rock, and Metal. But it's almost plug-and-play for the digital bass. Plugged it into a Skar SKv2-1500D.1 and wired it to 1ohm. Sending it the full 1250w it can handle...plus a little extra ;-)Doesn't move much for how much bass it puts out. By the time I get it to really move and push some air, the bass is so loud it's over powering. I put the crossover at about 63Hz low pass with a 12dB slope. 6x9 components are set to 80Hz high pass and a 6dB slope. The blend is nice and fairly even for the digital bass. So far, a 50Hz 6dB slope on the sub with a 63Hz 6dB slope on the 6x9 components is working decent for more analog bass like a guitar or kick drum. Still ironing that part out. Same with the location. Can't decide if I like it put in the far back, or sitting right behind my front seats. All things considered, I really like this sub. Far too much for my daily listening habits. But shakes the foundations of small buildings nicely. If you're looking for deep, solid bass that'll crack pavement, this is for you.

Expect two years and two months.
The media could not be loaded. Disappointing really, .. I have used Skar Complete systems in three vehicles. Tweeters and door speakers are great. As for large Subwoofers to be reliable …Go with American Bass, You have to spend a few extra dollars however, you kind of get what you pay for. Great while it lasted. Wasn’t pushing any over the top amperage or having connection issues… too bad really

Started smoking at well under max power
I ran this sub for about 2 1/2 weeks, sounded great but started smoking bad one day an it was well under max power...I'm running the skar up 1200watt amp with the gain up half way...sub still sounds good it just has me paranoid it's gonna start on fire with those scorch marks by the voil coil vents....returning this an going with the resilant sounds 18.
