I wasn't sure about purchasing these boots as the reviews were quite mixed but I didn't want to fork out for an expensive pair of boots until I'd got back into walking properly. They are really comfortable boots; I didn't have to wear them in and I've never had any problems with blisters or rubbing with these. They are also a good size/fit as I have quite wide feet. A year on and they are still super comfy to wear and waterproof; I'm really glad that I bought them! With hiking boots you generally get what you pay for so if you are after something that is going to last years and years, invest in some really decent boots but if you want something comfy that might last you a couple of years then these are a great option.

Have been a buyer of Merrell walking footwear but quality has deteriorated. Bought these to wear on my daily winter walks which include country parks and beaches. Strong and comfortable, with good ankle support. Importantly they have never leaked any water even when crossing shallow outflows on the beach. I put this down to the depth of tread and rubberised edging around front and sides. I can only speak as I find and I've found these very good for the price.
