nice and effective
Adorable, authentic bamboo whisk for matcha. When I use this it has a different taste than when I use an electric whisk. Its nice that it comes with a little plastic case to put it in. A little difficult to clean because the edges and the middle are curly and sometimes powder gets stuck to it.

Perfectly good chasen matcha whisk
My wife is the matcha maker in our household and she was very pleased. This is a so-called ‘usucho’ matcha whisk; i.e., it has a high tine count. In this case, the count is high in the one hundreds, whereas 80 to 100 is more customary. The high count results in a smoother tea and froth. Whether this is better or worse is a matter of personal preference and style. In use, this whisk produces a predictably smooth tea and froth (which I am drinking as I write this). We found no defects in the whisk and it performed comparably to others in our collection.

Good matcha whisk
This matcha whisk does a nice job of producing froth in the matcha. I normally soak the whisk in cool water in the matcha bowl for about 20 to 30 minutes before making matcha. Then I take the whisk out and empty the matcha bowl, and I rinse and dry the matcha bowl. I put 2 scoops of matcha into the matcha bowl. Put a bit of water (175 degrees Fahrenheit) into the matcha bowl and use the matcha whisk to whisk the matcha and the water. I whisk the matcha to produce some foam. Then I drink the matcha.Once I have finished drinking the matcha I wash and rinse the matcha bowl and then fill it with cool water. Then I soak the matcha whisk in the matcha bowl for about 30 minutes. Once the 30 minutes is finished I swish the whisk gently in the water and put the whisk onto the whisk holder. Then I wash and dry the matcha bowl.Anyway, I am happy with the matcha whisk. I might add that I never use dish soap on the matcha whisk.

Started falling apart before the first use. Had to trash it right after my first attempt to make a cup of matcha. Really flimsy and not worth the money.
