Fits easily and works very well.
This for me has been great and totally reliable. Really easy to fit in place and just does the job. I love having the extra space. I've left it a while before reviewing it as wanted to make sure after 6 months or so it was still working fine, but no problems at all with this i highly recommend it.

Good value, easy to install
Adding an M.2 SSD to the PS5 seems essential given the huge downloads for games. I already have Corsair RAM in my iMac so this one seemed trustworthy and a good price for 2TB.The heatsink is a nice, compact design and the packaging is entirely cardboard, no bags or excess cellophane. Opening the PS5's original case is easy, the neat PlayStation logo on the screw is an easter egg worth seeing.Inside the bay the screw and support are provided, but this drive is shorter than the maximum space available so you need to move it down a slot - don't lose the collar! There's no force or effort needed to install the drive.Powering up the PS5 recognised the drive instantly and offered to format it. It tests with a read speed of 6373 - a little short of the claimed read speed but close enough. Moving games to it is fast and everything I have launched from it has run justfine so I think it's up to the task, really! The upgrade is vital if you have PS Plus and a lot of games to stream, but I think the Corsair is worth having for the minimal packing, solid feeling heatsink and easy, fast installation. For me at least, it just works!

Easy enough to install, full capacity available.
Fitted into my PS5 Slim easily enough - hardest bit was getting the lid off the PS5. I fitted it once and obviously didn't seat it right as it wasn't detected, second time worked fine. Pretty surprised as I've fitted a bunch of NVME's to PC's. Remember you do need to put the NVME slot cover back on.Detects as a full 2TB not ~840GB like like the console internal storage. Seems like it writes much faster than the internal storage as moving from internal to M.2 is much faster than the other way (30 seconds instead of 3 minutes in one case) although its read benchmark came back as 6300mbps, I assume that's more a limitation of the PS5 than the drive. Got it on offer at ~£30 cheaper than the Samsung/WDC I was looking at.

Perfect storage solution
Bought this for my brothers PlayStation and it works perfectly. Great storage solution for the PS5.

Easy when you know how
A very good product, easy to add and install, if you know how. The problem is when I opened the expansion port, the M.2 SSD Space's groves are so easily broken that I needed to but a new on to hold this is place in the expansion port. Aside from that it was easy. Quick to format and install.

Large capacity at a large price
The build quality of the actual drive is very good. It has a real weight to it, due to the heat sink. I plugged it into my PS5 which was relatively uncomplicated apart from having to go out and buy a Phillips #0 to install the screw.I’ve not played any games off it yet as I’m waiting for them to download. But I have no reason to believe doing so would be a bad experience. One gripe I would have is that the PS5 when recognising the SSD, said it had a less than the advertised read speed (pictured above). Whether this is misleading marketing on behalf of Corsair or the maximum throughput of the IO controller of PS5 I do not know. Either way it’s faster (supposedly ~5,500 Mbps) than the one that’s soldered onto it’s motherboard. Also I don’t understand why the price of any SSD doesn’t scale linearly with capacity. Surely the price per GB is the same whether on a 500gb drive or 8TB or is that wishful thinking? All in all, this is probably the best fastest high capacity drive on the market - although maybe the Sabrent Rocket 4 would have something to say. I have an external SSD which I play my PS4 games off of and now with this Corsair drive I should be set until the next console generation. Who knows by then I might be plugging in an affordable gen5 8TB drive into my PS6.
