... if the engine is build incorrectly, sure, any head can drop a valve. This heads work well for their intended purpose when set up properly and not overcammed.

They will fit some sm blocks from the 80's - the 90's, Edelbrock does have some heads for LT1 and vortec style intakes

Q: will stock pushrods work?

No, you need hardened pushrods and test for the right length.
