There are many racks that look like this one, but you have to compare to get a good one!
This rack weighs about 40 lbs, If comparing to different ones verify the weight, the ones around 30 are made of thinner metal and likely not as sturdy (usually contain more negative reviews). I would guess most negative reviews with this one either didn't properly install it or somehow got a different product.I was able to assemble this rack by myself in about 30 minutes (I'm about average at these things, the directions were pretty easy to follow)I like that I can install the rack myself and load the ebikes (about 60 lbs each without batteries). Loading the ebikes is the hardest part but after a few rides I can now install/remove the rack and 2 ebikes in about 15 minutes. The rack has many ways to stabilize the bikes#1 the rack has a stabilizer to prevent wobble when it connects to the hitch#2 the base is adjustable so you can get the bikes to fit perfectly#3 the base has velcro straps to hold in each tire#4 the base has hooks in the middle that hold the bikes in the base#5 after all of the above a ratchet strap is provided that I run through all 4 tires and both bases of the bikes and that keeps everything absolutely steady and provides an extra level of protectionI feel like I'd have to get in an accident for anything to get loose. The rack has a locking pin to keep it on the car, it folds up when not using it to carry the bikes, it folds out when the bikes are installed if you need to get into your hatch.I was able to switch the middle hooks (see pics) to get it to hold a step over and step through bike without buying an extra attachment for the step through. The hooks would be setup evenly if you had 2 step overs or 2 step throughs. Some other racks offer hooks that can be angled for this or you can buy an additional attachment. One other important thing to note I had to disable my Infiniti braking assist and rear sonar, in order to backup my car with the bike rack attached. Not all cars have these features but make sure you can disable them or backing up can be impossible with the rack installed. I also bought a license plate to hang on the bikes because mine is not visible with the rikes on back.At this price point about 150 I think this is probably the best rack out there (watch for sales and coupons I think it can go for about 130 - 180 depending on your timing. I highly recommend this bike rack for heavier ebikes. It's well priced, easy to assemble, very sturdy, and most people can use it by themselves (attaching, loadcing, unloading, and detaching).

Sturdy and well-designed with easy tilt-down and fold-up capability. Assembly instructions included illustrations. Good value.

Machining, tolerances and welds appear to be good. Confidence inspiring.
Just need it for one bike, for a road trip, and can’t afford a 1up, which is of course a great one.Assembly was fine, although you’ll need some hex keys and a socket wrench set or at minimum a crescent wrench.Just assembled it for one bike currently. Setting up for a second bike would be totally easy and quick, if needed. This rack will not flip up when not in use, so one bike closer to the tailgate will also make the overall rack and car length shorter. All the welds look pretty good and the metal is pretty thick gauge where it counts. With the battery out of my e mtb, as other reviewers have suggested, I feel pretty safe transporting it with this rack. Two e mtbs might be pushing it, although I do have a second one I can test with later. The functionality seems pretty good for the price. The bike feels fairly secure. I will definitely be using the included strap and maybe also my own straps to reinforce the rack, as well as the anti wobble plate.I also purchased some reflective red tape, as other reviewers have suggested, since it’s impossible to collapse the rack when the car is parked at night. You’d have to take it into a hotel room or your home or garage if you’re really worried about someone accidentally hitting it. It does stick out rather far from the car, adding maybe three feet or more of car length if two bikes are on it, so I’m hoping some red tape will at least get someone’s attention before they careen into it.The locking hitch pin works well and has a weather cap to protect the lock iwhich is nice.Angling the rack downward to access the tailgate is clumsy, but achievable. Not surprised how basic the procedure is considering the price. Fanagle a pin out with some grunting and let gravity work.My tires are only 2.6”/2.5” and there is definitely plenty of room for way bigger tires in the tire trays. However, my wheels do feel pretty secure in the trays, although the included Velcro straps to secure the tires are flimsy. I’ll have to think of a way to modify that. Most of the pressure is applied from the cushioned arm securing the top tube of your bike frame, though, and further strapping should do the trick.Hopefully the rack won’t disintegrate while I’m speeding down the freeway. Big investment attached to it. Fingers crossed.
