New Zealand - Culture Smart!: The Essential Guide to Customs & Culture

Have spent a bit of time in NZ, am considering moving and was recommended this guide by an expat who made the move some time ago. There’s loads of helpful information packed into this little book, including history, values, traditions, festivals, and info on socializing, work culture, and Kiwi communication style. Highly recommend it for those who want to understand who the Kiwis are today and want to get along with them!

This was a gift but she seemed happy to get it. That's all I know. Hard to find any books on this topic I was happy to find this one.

Finished in a day. Short and sweet, I recommend the add on book Moon Living Abroad in New Zealand by Michelle Waitzman. It added a little more detail, if you plan on moving there. I plan on going to New Zealand for my internship and this book helped a lot.

I am preparing for an extended stay in NZ and appreciated Butler's overview of the history and customs of NZ. I found her book straightforward and her insight on Kiwi psychology and interacting with natives particularly useful. Hopefully I will now be better able to interact with NZ locals without embarrassing myself of inadvertently offending them!

The person who received this, as a gift was very excited, was just the type of information and book she was looking for. Out of the tree, New England gifts I ordered; T-shirt, this book and the journal, this book was the best the other two products I could have done without. Well, I did do without one product -!I never received it. I was extremely disgusted.

Moving to New Zealand, we wanted to have a hand held book and read about the cultures to prepare us for our visit. Excellent writing. Fast shipping!

Gave this to a friend who was heading to New Zealand. They said it was full of fun tips that helped them on their trip. An example of some of information is that tipping in restaurants is not customary like it is here in North America.

Enjoyed this read on New Zealand culture and way of life. The book covers a lot and is very comprehensive. It's an interesting read and I found it helpful on my trip.
