Good storyline
The portrait of the fascinating Malovia is vividly painted. The scenery, the diversity and the culture are so well portrayed that they can actually be visualised.Emma lives in Detroit and one day she is attacked by a strange creature and realises that she can use magic. Not that she believes that magic exists. Then she receives a visit offering her a place in a supernatural university. Just like that, her world changes. Destiny awaits.Ethan is the prince of Malovia and to date, he hasn't found a mate. He has lost his dad and a leg through a supernatural attack. He is the heir to the throne, but cannot enter the competition to determine who will be the next king. He needs a mate to be eligible.Emma is adjusting to this new world. She has made friends and she has also bonded to a mysterious shifter. She becomes friend with Ethan who is leading a double life. He is keeping secrets. He assumes that he is protecting her from those who want the throne. Little does he know that she is already a target for dark purposes. It's a fascinating world of shifters and sorceresses. Magic rules. Emma's incessant comparison of herself to others gets frustrating. Ethan's secrets and deception don't make an ideal relationship. The secrets are the main parts of the story, but wear a little thin after a while. Although they have a strong bond, their secrets get in the way of making this bond credible. The cliffhanger changes everything. It's a good storyline.

Holy CLICK! Amazingly story line to the first book!
Well, I really did love it. Emma was so funny to me. I really like her character and all but i did have a slight problem with her. Her disability it was hard for her to accept it but i think we are all like that too. Ethan was a very good character too. His own disability was different to read about and I try it once before but i couldn't even finish that novel at all. So he was cool. After that, i had my full of disabilities in this book. While i truly did like Odette character i really didn't think, Megan needed a third character with a disability at all.I found it was too much but after thinking more about it for three more hours, I really did like it that she placed three disabilities into this first book.I'm really looking forward too more books within this series and more books within this world series.

Take or leave it
Too much "oh, I'm weak, I can't do it. Poor me, I'm so jealous of everyone else because they can and I can't."Seriously got so tired of the poor, pitiful me routine.Over the top, story would be so much stronger without it....and everything is a secret. Big secret, little secret. On and on.
