Heartwarming!
This was a beautiful touching true story of a true war hero. I am an animal lover and I needed to pick out a book for book club where we were asked to read something about world war 1. Even though this is a juvenile book everyone loved hearing the account I gave of it and showing the beautiful illustrations.

Students loved this!
My students LOVED this true story! They are between the ages of 9-10 and are very accustomed to hearing about the story ending happily but this one caught them off guard and really showed their compassion. Such a wonderful book to use in class to explain how animals have helped in WWI.

Amazing Read! My dyslexic student loved it!
If you've ever had or worked with a person that has a reading weakness or dyslexia, you know what a challenge it is to get them to read. This book was amazingly effective at motivating one student to read more than what was in my lesson plan. He is now on his second book about a war dog.

Nice Book to Teach History
I bought this book for a 2nd grade class for their Veterans Day performance. I thought it would be a nice addition to the class library. I think the content is not for 2nd graders. But other than that I was happy with the book’s quality.

Wonderful touching story!!!
I read this book to preview it before I give it to my Granddaughter Olivia. It is a beautiful true story about the love between a stray dog and his master fighting side by side as soldiers in WWI. "Rags" was fearless and full of love. Since our family are all serious animal lovers, I know it will be perfect for her. She can most likely read this story by herself, but she loves to be read to as well. I can't wait to share it with her.

Great book, especially for younger readers.
The book was in great shape and the illustrations were wonderful. The only thing that surprised me was that it was a picture book. I was expecting more of a chapter book. I miss being able to peek inside a book in Amazon, though I should have looked for the number of pages.

Pictures are beautiful as is the story
Pictures are beautiful as is the story. I bought it for my granddaughter but it is better for a slightly older child, so I'll wait a few years to give it to her. I believe that children in grade school would appreciate it best.Joyce Toia
