Q: What is the difference between pattern: insert and full overlay?

When you look at the door from outside how they fit into the cabinet.. example.. kitchen cabinet: the door can be set that way that the door covers completely the frame of the cabinet, or it can be set so there is a space between doors of the next cabinet showing half inch of the cabinet around the door, or the door can be set flash with the cabinet frame so it shows entirely the cabinet frame. those are the three different ways the door can be set. Those are your differences.

Q: Does this come in a black cap for the front?

The cap I got was silver colored.

Q: How does this attach to the glass? Do you have to drill holes in the glass or does it clamp down onto the glass?

Comes with clamp. It's the black round piece on the picture.

Q: how do you install these. there is no flange to screw in the wood just a plastic insert. Are you supposed to glue it in the bored out hole?

One part is screwed to the wood the other is in the glass door. Note that this is for glass doors. For wood doors is another model

Decent hinge

I used these hinges to mount a full overlay plexiglass door on a display cabinet. They work described, but figuring where and how to mount them is a flail. Decent instructions with appropriate measurements would make the job a snap.

but it works like a charm and is much better quality than the ...

Time will tell if these hold up, but so far I'm impressed with the quality and function. I bought these to replace a broken hinge on an Ikea cabinet. Installation required some careful measurements, as the hinge needed to be mounted a little further back in the cabinet than the original, but it works like a charm and is much better quality than the original Ikea hinge.
