Is compatible with Android+iOS & only need Alexa app!
Like others, I have an Android phone and the iOttie app doesn't come up in Google Play. I saw this after I had ordered it. I also noticed that the box said for iPhones... but then I saw that you don't need the iOttie app to run it as it will simply connect to Alexa. But before I broke the seal/opened, I emailed iOttie customer service to confirm that the device would work with Android phones. Seemed like it would since others were but didn't know if they had different models and I happened to order the wrong one or something. I emailed after 5 PM EST but got a response the next morning. The CSR was helpful and I was able to get it connected! It works pretty much just like the Alexa Auto which I have in a different vehicle. The instructions say to turn on the engine and the pairing process automatically begins but I had to do what the CSR said, open the Alexa app and add the device (located under Auto Accessory). From there, it connects in like 5 seconds. And everything disconnects from the internet from time to time so the reviews about that didn't bother me. I like that the iOttie device does the same thing at $30 less and without the long cable! :)

A waste of a cool idea
Complete piece of crap set up of the device doesn’t work. Integration with Alexa is crap. I’m gonna return it and just hope they give my money back and pray to God they make something that is as cool as this looks in the videos that people have made in the meantime don’t waste your money. Update: after 12 times through the process I was able to get a device to connect to Alexa however I am still having a time getting it to connect to my car. So progress was made after much cursing, but the next step remains elusive.

Exactly what I wanted
I will update this if it doesn't continue working how I expected, but I've ordered a 2nd one already because I liked it so much. First off, this uses your phone to act as a middleman between it and whatever is being controlled. It's just that your phone doesn't always have Alexa ready for voice commands. It's also a rapid charger and USB-A which I use for my dash cam. Setup is straightforward in the short directions they give you. Download their app, find your device, open Alexa app, add device to Alexa. From then on you can call for Alexa for music or directions and it'll pull it up on your phone. If your phone is connected to your car stereo, obviously it'll play through there. I think the Iottie app needs to be left open in the background for the sync to work and stay working, but that's a minor inconvenience. I ordered a 2nd one for my tractor since I absolutely hate pulling out my phone when I'm running it.

Upgrade over Roav Viva with a Caveat
I’ve been an Alexa Auto user for 5 years and counting, as I find that the current options meet the main use cases. I felt the need to upgrade now that my kids are learning Spanish and the Alexa SDK support multi lingual, simultaneous speech - I know all my 4+ year old Echo devices do. My reliable Roav Viva couldn’t do this, so I felt it was worth it to try this iOttie device in each of my cars. The device works well and seamlessly activates through the Alexa app. However, it does NOT support multi lingual operation due to the iOS Alexa app not supporting this. This is an inexcusable miss in 2025, especially knowing there are other Alexa experiences support this and it’s not complicated to do. Do better, Alexa team! I’m still keeping this iOttie device because it seamlessly identifies when I switch cars without the need to manually switch devices (Roav made me do so). Fast charging works well as well.

Skip the App, Plug It In, and Live Happily Ever After - It Just Works!
I’ve had this little genius for over 5 months and I’m still obsessed. I never bothered with the iOttie app (because who needs another app?). I just plugged it in, connected it to my iPhone via Bluetooth, and BOOM , instant setup. No messy wires. No complicated pairing. Just plug and play. It charges my phone fast, plays my music, and even lets me talk to Alexa while driving. The port fits snugly , no wiggling, no falling out, no battery drain. I literally leave it plugged in 24/7 in my Honda Ridgeline. I also bought one for my husband’s GMC Terrain and my mom’s Benz E320. All work perfectly. I’m convinced people having issues are using the app , Skip it and you’ll be fine. This is my 4th purchase because it’s such a solid gift , practical, sleek, and works every single time. The best part ? It’s so affordable, great value for money .

No he logrado sincronizar el dispositivo a ningún vehículo para que reciba ordenes. Finalmente la terminé utilizando como cargador de baterías y celulares. 🤔🤔🤔

NO APP SUPPORT
Don’t bother with this garbage!, there is no app support , won’t let you log in. I did finally get the Alexa app to learn it in. You have to yell at this to work. Most of the time it doesn’t hear you due to its low in the dash cause it’s in the cig plug. Sent back. The Alexa auto 2nd gen is on sale for $24. It has 5 mics to pic you up. I bought a usb cig plug so I can plug my dash cam mini and Alexa auto in. I was using a garmin dash cam with Alexa built in, it died so I’m looking to replace it with the mini and a Alexa device. Don’t bother with this iottie junk.

Just talk instead of fumbling, looking for buttons or trying to hit the right icon on a touchscreen.
I bought this solely to have Alexa in my truck and I absolutely love it. So much easier just to speak a command to call someone to text someone to listen to different music sources. I would recommend this to anyone. I was hesitant, but I’m glad I finally bought one. No regrets.

Works well with android phones, no need for an app, just use alexa on your phone to connect, then off you go

Me gusta que se pueda enlazar con mi cuenta Amazon, y se reproduce Amazon music. Pero lo que no me gusta es que necesita estar abierta la app de Amazon para enlazar si no, no lo reconoce y no funciona. De algo en más todo excelente

Very intermittent connection

Se ve de buena calidad, buen precio, pero no sirve su aplicación, se conecta con la aplicacion de Alexa pero necesariamente necesita la aplicación del dispositivo para sintonizar
