The book is nothing what it claims: neither is it a practitioner approach, nor a strategy guide. To the contrary, it's a loose collection of facts or platitudes, with no connection to a business' social media/marketing success. For example: "The Internet is no longer confined to the boundaries of the personal computer screen but has become a medium for the masses" - what audience do the authors have in mind? Also: "Facebook is an American company and online social media and social networking service based in California. The Facebook website was launched on in February, 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, along with fellow Harvard College students and roommates. Facebook Inc. held its initial public offering (IPO) in February 2021, ...", so it goes on for half a page to arrive at the conclusion: "Facebook is the social media giant and as such businesses cannot overlook this global communication channel." Tips like: Determine your objectives, understand your audience, and develop a content strategy are not filled with anything concrete.
