We have just received this hot plate, but we love it already. We do not have a stove, so we are cooking in an air fryer and a griddle. I wanted to be able to make mac and cheese or a quick soup. I decided to try a hot plate and ordered the Techwood hot plate. It comes with a notice to burn off the chemicals on the burner before first use or it could stink. I did turn it on for a few minutes before cooking, but I have not noticed a smell. It heated up quickly and our wonton soup was done in just a few minutes. We are learning to cook so we are experimenting with flavors. I decided to make my own broth, and it was great. I made it from fresh ingredients, and it was done quickly. It tastes great and saved me a ton of money over going out for wonton soup. I did not notice any noise other than the boiling water and love that it can be tucked away easily once it cools off and I can move it around or take it with me if I need a place to heat something up. We love this thing and how it will help us expand what we are able to cook. I can't wait to make some wings.

The burners are each 7 inches in diameter, and there's enough space between them to use two small to medium sized pots/pans. I was able to use my bigger pots and pans for cooking on one burner at a time (even my 12" frying pan), it just took nearly twice as long. I've had to use it for a week so far (including to cook Thanksgiving dinner: mashed potatoes, green beans almondine, cranberry sauce, etc.). This cooktop has held up well and I'm happy with it so far.

It pre-heats about as quickly as any other electric hot plate or burner I’ve used before. Once it’s hot it stays hot, but then if you had it set to low and you turn it to max from there, it still takes about as long as any other electric to power up hotter. And then you might need to lift the pan off the heat if you suddenly need a cooler temp because the hot plate won’t respond as quickly as gas when demanding cooler temperatures, but that’s true for any electric I’ve used.

This little hot plate is perfect for my cottage. It heats up quickly and easily fits a two quart saucepan. It looks pretty on the countertop but is light enough to just tuck away when not needed. It doesn’t heat to the edges so be mindful of the size pan used. It’s perfect for sautéing, eggs, meat, rice, pasta, etc.. I would buy this product again.

I have used this hot plate less than 10 months, and have used it lightly. I use it to heat a kettle up in the morning for a French press. The other week, after turning it off and going about the day, my husband said, "The hotplate is still on and super hot! But the knob is all of the way off! This thing is going to catch something of fire!" The plate was scary hot and had to be unplugged to turn the burner off. Basically, now the knob for On/Off plus heat adjustment does not work and it runs on hot...yet hotter than it did on full heat before the knob stopped working. I contacted the email for support. Supposedly they are to get back with you in 24hrs. I never heard back, so days later contacted another email address. They responded next day and said this email address does not handle these issues but, they will send my email over to (the email address I already contacted previously). The person who replied also stated that they have been busy, so just keep sending emails and they will respond. I have sent many emails over and over and I have had no reply what soever. I rarely place reviews...not because I do not care to. In fact, I wish I did. I am just so busy, that I do not have time. I honestly want to share good reviews and I have so many to share. I am so disappointed in this situation that I feel the need to place a review. I'm very disappointed that the company fully abandoned me and did not stand by their product nor stated warranty.

A great product

THINGS I DID NOT LIKE This item arrived well-packaged, but to my surprise, there was NO instruction booklet or warranty card inside at all. So, I have no idea what the warranty is, or if there even is one. And, it came from China, so I have no idea who even to contact, or where, if it malfunctions. That is a big issue. Maybe the manufacturer will read this and send me an instruction booklet and warranty card? QUESTIONABLE THINGS On the top of each hot plate burner was a brief explanation about the first use of the burner and it smoking, which it said is normal for the first time. My unit did NOT smoke at all when I turned it on the highest setting for 3-5 minutes as suggested by the sticker. That made me wonder if it was a returned item. I had to turn the control knob well past the halfway mark to get some good heat coming up, but then it heats quickly. The unit is a bit pricey compared to many, but maybe because it is an infrared heat and you don't have to worry about EMF emissions. It is longer than other units (21.5 inches), so make sure you have enough room on your counter before you buy it. THINGS I LIKE ABOUT IT Unlike most all the other hot plates out there, this one has a nice long cord (44" not counting the prongs that go into the wall on the plug at the end of the cord). That's a good 8-10 inches longer than some other units. That gives you much more flexibility in placing it as it doesn't have to be right by a plug. It also has a smooth glass top for each burner, which I like. In addition to the two control knobs with which you can adjust the heat intensity, there is a third on-off knob in the back of the unit. The body of the unit is a handsome silvery color. But, be careful because it does get hot too. WHAT MADE ME CHOOSE THIS UNIT? What prompted me to buy this unit was the fact that it heats by infrared, which does not give off EMF radiation and because it has smooth glass top burners, each with 900 watts of power and a wide plate. I also like that the glass burner tops are surrounded and sunken into the metal casing, which holds them in place. The last hot plate I had did not have that feature, and after a few years of use, the burner top actually came off. So, when I noticed on the photos that the burner plate was surrounded by metal casing, that was a big plus for me. There is nothing in the description on Amazon about the length of the cord and Rufus the A.I. was clueless too. A.I.s are actually stupid and only know what is programmed into them. I really needed a long cord, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the length and thickness of it. So, so far I'm good with this unit, but I've only cooked with it once so far. Heats up quickly, and works well. Stays fairly warm after turning off, so be careful about that. Overall very happy with this unit!

I operate this product but it is not working properly while cooking directly off. its takes too much time to boil milk & cook veg.
