Truly amazing. I am taking this along with Xi Xian ...
im on day 5 ; on day one I noticed an improvement in my left thumb joint that over 6 months of physical therapy has not achieved. I actually was able to bend my thumb from zero degres to 10 degrees. not much you may say but it is huge for me. In my l eft kee where my mobility has been extremely limited an I wa unable to bend my knee for over a year. then I started working out/ stretching and got it to aboutkn 20 percent of a bend with this on day 5 I bend my knee to a 90 degree angle perpendicular to the floor!!!!! Truly amazing. I am taking this along with Xi Xian Cao 1/8 tsp with water once a day.***UPDATE*** my XI XIAN CAO finally arrived and now I am taking this with it as well. I scoop which is provided as well as 1/4 tsp of the Xi XIan. Once a day. I take the two tea products and shake in a 8 ounce bottle of water. If you let it sit for a while it will combine together and taste like unsweetened tea. Not bitter when taken together . I stopped taking it for two day and severe pain returned throughout my body. During the first few days I slept a lot but it may not be related. I will work up to the three times a day metioned as my goal is to decrease scarring in my fallopian tubes and uterus etc. I also noticed on day 5 My skin on my face crumbled off like dry skin so I took a bath and revealed a fresh new skin; It is truly amazig that it goes deep down to your skin. My c section scar is already looking improved. Shockingly I went to wipe off the dry looking skin during my first day after I stoped taking it and resumed and noticed one of my Im liver spots on my face fall off! It is amazing. My feet feel like they have glass in it as it has in the past but i detect healing this time.I have some type of yeast or something that causes this severe pain in my feet but it feels like my body is trying to push this out as well. This product works quickly. I amazed at all the good results in such a short time. I am taking one capsules once a day as soon as I wake up with a glass of water and then I wait two or three hours before I eat. Negatives: I have noticed it does make me feel a bit nauseous and maybe sick to my stomach for a few hours after I am taking it. This may be due to all the stuff it has to get rid of in my body. This works faster than Wobenzymes. I have decided to take them along with those though for a better result. I will update after more time has gone by I have seen reviews like "IT worked" but that does not give me any information as to what the person felt it worked on or what they expected it to do. I was only expecting some reduction in my fallopian scar tissue but then when I researched more and found out it can clear out the arteries of plaque etc. then I am hoping for that as well. I have not cut myself yet but the bottle does ay it is good for clearing out the sinuses. I have notices a thinning of my vaginal cervical mucous which is huge for me. I am no longer dry down there! That is such a plus. On day 2 I noticed pain in my legs deep into my muscles and veins it was like a cramp that would start and stop like a heartbeat but after taking the tea at night time this stopped and is not a problem. Ive noticed pain in my kidneys as well and have peed strong urine smell pee with white pieces of tissue. this is also easing up. I can't believe how many things this is working on and how much of a mess my body has been in! Im hoping to get stronger so I wont need as many pain pills from the doctor.. Strong pee still but also stringy stuff coming from the skin of my labia.I cleaned that up. I will continue to update. It is worth getting all three products and taking them together. My deep stomach pain has now resided. had some increased energy today and did not need to sleep like the other days. This stuff all together is amazing.

A near perfect way of managing and preventing many conditions
I first learned about this wonderful enzyme while researching ways to manage stage IV endometriosis post surgery, i.e. w/o hormone injections. Since I pretty much followed endo diet anyway (no soy, red meat, farmed protein, gluten free, etc.) I needed a way to fight this monster. Adding serrapeptase has been superb. I also noticed that if I took it with food it acted as a great enzyme for digestion. My lessons learned, I continue to reap benefits and would like to share what this has done for our family pets. IN these cases, it's not about pain management but rather - their food intake and waste removal. As an animal lover and an owner of a very senior pet with early stages of renal disease and an overactive thyroid I am always trying to prevent his kidney issues from resulting in megacolon and general constipation. He is fed holistic diet but is also very picky. He also has issues with his hips from some nerve damage done when he had Perineal urethrostomy some 12 years ago (ugh... a sex change to prevent life-threatening blockage), plus the dude's getting older (now 17!). Recently he's really started slowing down and I took a wild guess that he, like many older cats, simply was not absorbing nutrition as he should from what he does eat and when he does not things also get clogged (he eats wet with a little dry as a treat). His thyrioid med is great but something still wasn't clicking and reality started to hit that he may not be around for more than a year or two. After a particularly troubling poop-less period(forgive me here, but as a pet parent you know the importance of it) three weeks ago I threw caution to the wind. My boy began to look more fragile than usual and not as determined not to act his age. His soft fur lost luster and, as all senior pets do, looked frail. I thought, screw it, what do we have to lose? I started mixing in 120K units of serrapeptase directly into the top of his food with hopes that he would eat at least 80K units. His dry spell continued for a day and then I was presented with double (perfect) 'output'. After that, over each day his appetite returned, he produced great regular 'product' which looked nothing like he created even on his 'good' days, there was less smell among other things and no strain on his part. His whole demeanor changed for the better. His vet mentioned that not only do older cats have trouble with nutrient absorption but also often run into issues with arthritis and sometimes even temporary paralysis because they strain so much. With this only change in his otherwise flawless diet and cold pressed grizzly brand salmon oil he is a new creature. He's shed years - he is relaxed, playful, his appetite returned, he is walking more comfortably and overall his quality of life clearly changed w/in a few days. I cannot believe the transformation. My family talks nutrition the way some follow sports and are well versed in holistic pet care. Still, each animal reacts differently and they are aging. Coincidentally, my parents were at their wits end fearing the end of their own 17 year old cat. As they braced for another miserable last-ditch visit ($$$ & stressful for Charlie) to the vet whose only solution so far has been to put him under, clean him out and send him home with lactulose. SO far they thought they were lucky - he does eat organic raw pumpkin and a few other helpful goodies. Still, after the terrible paralisys episode a few weeks ago and an unusually bad (lack) of recovery the were heartbroken. In desperation (just before the vet visit) they mixed in contents of a 40K capsule into his lactulose and gave it to him with his two doses. It took a day for him to finally go, but once he cleared his system it's been the same type of recovery as I've seen in my own guy. Four days later my mother is shocked at his overall change just as I described in my dude. Clearly, the normal way of taking it is on an empty stomach and for pain. I simply used the logic that this is still a strong digestive enzyme as many other sources described. It made sense but my parents and I can testify that the positive effect it's had on our senior boys. I'm adding Zeel (from Traumeel Heel makers) for pain just in case but will continue to use serrapeptase for my creature as a hidden topping on his food. My guess is that he's getting about 60K with each meal and that seems to suit very well. I look at photographs I took of my pet three weeks ago and those taken over the last week and he looks several years younger, well hydrated and clearly unburdened by any discomfort. This was the only thing added to Mo's routine. There are many enzymes one may add like protease but this was already in my kitchen and there was no need to jump through hoops. I urge those who have arthritic pets to follow our lead and help their furry kids strain less and enjoy their senior years in peace. Right now, I'm hoping for another five good years with my creature. Who knows? BTW - I buy this product from Amazon or Vitacost interchangably. I do not use the enteric capsule and set is aside for other use. I hope those struggling with their aging pet's digestive issues may consider our experiences and give it a shot. I would also like to point out that the little jelly glops from pollen allergies are gone too. He eats food w/o soy, animal bi-products, w/gluten already.

CLEARER BREATHING - PLUS it got rid of an ugly Seborrhoeic keratosis!
SERRAPEPTASE - 120,000 SPU CAPSULES DAY 1: 10/12/14 I have chronic sinus congestion, and noticed this morning, to my surprise, that my breathing cleared up about 20 minutes after taking this product. I was surprised by this effect, because I've taken serrapeptase before without noticing anything similar. When I took it in the past, I usually took one or two 40,000 SPU capsules (for a total dosage of 80,000 SPU). Today I took two 120,000 SPU capsules (for a total dosage of 240,000 SPU.) The larger dose is what appears to have made a difference. I should mention that I was not taking serrapeptase alone. I took it in water along with some other enzymes, on an empty stomach. (I don't take proteolytic enzymes with food, I take them an hour or so before eating.) I take the other enzymes regularly, but have not noticed them helping my breathing. It was the addition of serrapeptase that appears to have made a difference. After noticing the clearer breathing, out of curiosity, I typed in "serrapeptase mucus" in my browser, and found some web pages and videos saying that others have experienced this effect. One Youtube video by John Gray talks specifically about the effects of serrapeptase on mucus and congestion. Just google the name of the video if you'd like to watch it: "Serrapeptase reduces inflammation and mucus in the body." As Mr. Gray points out, "When you have mucus in your gut, fungus can grow in your gut." So clearing out mucus could have beneficial effects for people trying to clear up fungal infections. I'll keep taking it and report back in a few days, but my initial response is, I like this product. LATER NOTES: 1) I took more serrapeptase later in the day, and did not notice the mucus-thinning effect, maybe because I'd eaten some food not long before. 2) I noticed this at the end of the day that my vision suddenly seemed dramatically clearer. When I look at the edges of letters I'm typing on a computer screen, they appear crisp and clear, not blurred as they sometimes do. This totally surprised me. I like reading in bed but sometimes have a hard time doing so because my eyes aren't up to it. At the end of Day 1, I found, to my total surprise, that I was able to read fine print with less light. I'm typing this on my computer.... I would usually blow up the lettering to a large side to read more easily, but I can read it fine using a very small font. The serrapeptase is the only thing I'm doing differently. So -- two effects so far, both of them unexpected and remarkable. (Later note: DAY 2: my vision is still crisp and clear, and I'm reading a very tiny font with no problems on my computer screen.) (Later note: DAY 3: my vision seems back to normal today. (I can read small print but it's not as crisp/clear as it looked on Days 1 and 2) I should emphasize that (1) I am taking serrapeptase with some other enzymes (NOW Super Enzymes); and the clearer breathing and eyesight did NOT happen when I took serrapeptase at a lower dose. Some people, like Ray Sahelian, recommend taking a very small dose; but when I took a small dose, it didn't have any noticeable effect. So in my opinion, Sahelian's advice is incorrect. SIDE EFFECTS: On Day 1, I noticed some itching on my arms about two hours after taking it in the morning. It lasted ten or fifteen minutes, then faded away. When I took serrapeptase later in the day, it didn't have this effect. I also noticed some belching in the evening on Day 1 ... a by-product of the digestive process I guess. I think it was because I hadn't drunk enough water during the day. With the enzyme doing so much inside of me, I'm going to need to remember to increase my water consumption. DAY 9: 10/21/14 I've been taking serrapeptase for the last nine days. I usually take a couple of capsules of SP along with olive leaf extract and another enzyme supplement with water in the morning, then once or twice during the day. I still feel that it's beneficial, and, I think, it's gradually clearing up a chronic sinus condition. My breathing is clearer. I was exposed to a cold a few days ago, but didn't catch it. I believe the supplements I'm taking are helping. DAY 32: 11/3/14 Still taking serrapeptase, and I still feel like it's helping me. I'm not sure I can explain or justify why I feel that way. I usually take 6 or 7 capsules a day on an empty stomach (2 or 3 in the morning before breakfast; 2 or 3 at night; and sometimes a couple during the day.) As an experiment, I tried dissolving the contents of a capsule in my mouth once. I do NOT recommend doing so. After about ten minutes, I had a burning sensation in the back of my throat. I'm not sure why, since serrapeptase is only supposed to dissolve dead tissue. But it felt like it burned my throat, which felt a little raw for a couple of days. (Later note: I did some web research and found others who had tried this, and also gotten raw throats as a result.) 2016 UPDATE: 12/9/2016 I took serrapeptase for several months after writing the comments above, then drifted away from taking it for a while. I recently decided to try taking it again. (I found a half-full bottle in an old box of supplements, and thought, what the heck.) I took some about an hour ago because my nose was stuffed up. It's un-stuffed now. I don't know if the serrapeptase was responsible, but will keep taking it and report back later. 2017 UPDATE 1/19/2017 As stated above, I took a break from serrapeptase for a while, then started taking it again a few weeks ago. One reason I decided to try it again was that I have a condition called Seborrhoeic keratosis, which results in big ugly wart-like growths, often in the worst possible place. They're harmless but unsightly. They look terrible, frankly. My doctor offered to freeze off the Seborrhoeic keratosis on my forehead, but couldn't guarantee it would work, and said it might leave a scar and could even grow back. So I decided to see if serrapeptase might work instead. I wasn't honestly sure if it would work because serrapeptase only works on non-living tissue, but I figured most of it wouldn't hurt to try. Most of the Seborrhoeic keratosis appeared to be made up of a kind of dried, crusty, tissue which if anything seems more similar to the rock-like cocoons serrapeptase dissolves in nature, than it does to normal living skin. To remove the Seborrhoeic keratosis, I did two things: 1) I started taking two 120,000 capsules in the morning and two at night, with water, an hour before or two hours after my last meal. After taking this for a couple of weeks I started noticing that a particularly ugly Seborrhoeic keratosis on my forehead was indeed starting to break up. It appeared to split into two smaller ones, where a large one had existed before. 2) I then made a paste of serrapeptase and put it directly on the Seborrhoeic keratosis, applying it with a Q-tip. It just takes a little water or oil (such as MCT oil) added to the serrapeptase to make a gooey paste. Other times, I mixed the serrapeptase with aloe vera gel and dabbed it on with a Q-tip. And - hallelujah - this finished the job. (A couple of times, I put some of the paste on a bandaid and put it over the Seborrhoeic keratosis. But mostly I just left the bandaid off.) 3) After doing this for a few weeks, I'm happy to report that there is almost nothing left of the Seborrhoeic keratosis. What's left is barely visible to the eye. (LATER NOTE: Two weeks later: The keratosis is completely gone now. My skin where it was before is completely smooth. There's no sign anymore that that keratosis ever existed.) 4) The only other thing I was doing to the Seborrhoeic keratosis during this time was occasionally putting some aloe vera on it. But I had used aloe vera alone before on the Seborrhoeic keratosis, without much visible change (although it did lighten the color of the Seborrhoeic keratosis). The serrapeptase was, I believe, what finally got rid of the Seborrhoeic keratosis. So yes. It worked. Yay! I'm very happy to say that it did. Since I had taken it before orally without this result, I believe it was the combination of taking it internally and applying some externally to the keratosis, that made it effective. 2018 UPDATE: The Seborrheic keratosis has not come back. I'm happy to have it gone. I should emphasize that simply taking serrapeptase internally did not get rid of it. What got rid of it was the combination of INTERNAL serrapetptase and an EXTERNAL poultice made of serrapeptase and a little MCT oil (or sometimes aloe vera gel), held on by a band-aid.

Great product! Really works!
Serrapeptase is good for so many things. Personally, I have noticed a number of positive results from taking this product. I'm 40 years old and have had joint pain in my knees since highschool. I also have frequent lower back pain and some stiffness. After one week taking serrapeptase, the joint pain is virtually gone and the back pain and stiffness is improving! I've been telling everybody about this because it's very significant to me. My blood pressure has also lowered and normalized (without any change in my diet or exercise routine). I am also sleeping better and seem to have more energy. I can't say that all of these effects are directly related to the serrapeptase, but it's the only change I've made in my routine so far. One note about dosage... I'm a pretty large guy (6'-3" and 290-lbs). When starting to take this product, I did increase my dosage significantly for the first week. Instead of one capsule twice a day, I take 4-5 twice a day (with no side effects) and then gradually reduce down to 2 capsules twice a day. This is not a "drug" in the traditional sense, so taking more than the amount shown on the label is not so much an "overdose" as it is a matter of getting the proper dose. For example, the USRDA says that the average adult male needs at least 60-90mg a day of Vitamin C; However, many nutrition experts will tell you that this may be ridiculously low. The actual number may be upwards of 2,000mg (according to research done at the Mayo Clinic and other sources)! Even with this MUCH higher dose, there is no danger of harmful side effects but, on the contrary, there will likely be a number of fantastic health benefits. Check with The Serrapeptase Guy (Robert Redfern, Nutritionalist) for assistance on dosing your serrapeptase and, if you're concerned at all, keep your doctor in the loop of course (hopefully he has heard of the stuff or will, at least, be willing to research it with you). I don't yet know how this product compares with more expensive brands such as those recommended by The Serrapeptase Guy, but it was actually his website that had this brand (Doctor's Best) as one of the alternative products in the same class that had a decent potency rating. I took that as a positive recommendation and, indeed, it seems to work for me. I also like the Doctor's Best brand because of its affordability. Amazon.com has also been excellent for service and shipping! I'm very happy with my purchase! The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I have not tried the brand that is so highly recommended by Robert Redfern.

Real Deal
This stuff doesn't play. I had stage IV endometriosis and this had my adhesions "itching" as it eased inflammation. I take it for fibrocystic breast disease as well. If you're consistent, this is one of the best supplement investments!

Important that everyone knows before buying!!
Update: ok so i wrote this originally on April 3rd of 2019. Updating today on May 21st 2020 I found out I suffer from a slight iron deficiency. Im not sure if that played a role in serrapeptase causing so much distress... But it seems like it would. Ive taken breaks from it for weeks and even months but the reaction is still the same. Liquid stool, fever, body aches, chills and horrendous straining vommiting as well as lips turning blue and tiny red dot pin pricks on my face from all of the straining. You are not supposed to take this with any blood thinners serrapeptase thins your blood on its own.. Adding low iron anemia to it may have played a role in why i had such a terrible reaction. I also took a lot of collagen for about a month and a half.. Tried it again.. The symptoms happened again... Only a little less harsh. So who knows.. Maybe if i built up my collagen for 6 months to a year i might be ok.. All i know is i believe in this bc i actually passed a fibrous dark colored tissue after o ly 3 weeks. It was NOT a period clot. Way too firm and almost a black color. After the first day i felt my ovaries "wake up" with tingling and almost a menthalated feeling.. It was unreal Thats why i still believe in it. I felt like i was going to die but i passed what i believe to be a fibroid. Thats a tangible result!! Just be careful. It hit me out of the blue after 3 weeks of taking 0ne million units.. Feeling great...Then BAM! doubled over in pain and losing control of my bowls while not being able to catch my breath. Oh.. And i took FOUR different brands and had the exact same result. 3 different smaller and smaller doses.. I even broke one open and used 1/8 of the smallest capsule.. (As directed by a so called serrapeptase expert) Still reacted badly.. And yes... They were all enterically coated It made ZERO difference. And i was told to taking digestive enzymes.. Did that for three months.... Tried serrapeptase again.. ZERO effect.. I still endured the worst gut pain, and liquid stool but no fever and chills that time I wish i could handle it bc i know it works 👍 Good luck out there ----------------------------------------------------- Ok. So let me first start by saying i too became VIOLENTLY ILL one day out of the blue. I did just fine with it for like a month and one day i ate some pretty bland food and puked strenuously 6 different times. I had liquid bowel movements as well. The whole thing was terrifying. It lasted about 10 -12 hrs .. Just feeling drained and miserable. BUT! I now know WHY everyone is getting sick and its not a defect of the brand it is a defect of the user. Serapeptase breaks down proteins. Ur gut has a protective lining in it called biofilm. Biofilm is made up of proteins. So what did we stupidly do? Thats right. We slowly stripped it away until we had none (or a small amount) causing the violent and terrible reaction that it causes. Whats the solution? Depends on the person. Take a couple of weeks to build that film back and then SCALE BACK ur doses significantly. Start with one 40,000 unit pill PER DAY and dont go overboard. Why did i give this a 5 star rating? Bc while i was wretching and going to toilet i passed an endometrial polyp! Its doing its job!!! Complete breakdown of a polyp in only 3 weeks??? I also felt my formerly dormant/ blocked fallopian tube twinge and wake up after 10 years of silence. A nasty scar from childhood is fading after 20 years. Im taking a small break and getting right back to it. I love this stuff. We all just have to be smarter about how we take it. Do more research before blaming the product. Good luck everyone out there!

Both Wonderful and Horrific
Decided on a 3-star rating based on my experience: Bought for sinus problems. One side has been blocked for 3 months; worked with 3 doctors on it, one being an allergist. After 3 days of taking one capsule on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, I started having sinus draining. A miracle! I felt terrible from it, sounded like a man, was coughing and clearing my throat constantly, and I couldn't have been happier. I just kept on with the product and I feel like a new person now. So based on effectiveness, I would give this product 5 stars. And now for the bad news... 2 weeks to the day of taking my first pill, and about 3 hours after taking, I was at the store with my husband when I started feeling nauseous and clammy. I just said 'we need to leave NOW'. On the 10 minute drive back home, I had to yell for him to pull over on the interstate because I wasn't making it home. Well, thank goodness I did not vomit then (you'll read why that was such a good thing in a minute). Once home, he didn't even have the car in park when I flew in the house literally shoving anyone in my way out of my path and screaming at them. At the same time, I was frantically pulling off my coat, boots, etc., while running like a maniac. I had THE most horrific simultaneous vomiting and diarrhea I can ever remember. And it went on and on. If that had happened on the side of the road, I wouldn't have been able to get back into the car without first removing all of my clothes. I proceeded to vomit so violently two additional times, that here I am the day after and it hurts to take a deep breath. I'd eaten all the same foods the day before as my family, and I know of no one with a stomach virus. And oddly enough I was craving Italian food by dinnertime, which I can't imagine would happen with a stomach bug. Went onto the reviews, and it's amazing that so many people experienced this at the 2- or 3-week mark after feeling no adverse symptoms prior to that. So, now what? No way on earth will I take this again, and for anyone who believes people with this reaction should just suffer through any 'die-off' symptoms because the product is working its' magic have obviously never experienced this horror. I can completely see how anyone with a compromised system would need medical intervention. I'm thinking of switching to the 40,000 unit capsule, but my hands shake even writing that. I hope this helps people make an informed decision to determine if the benefits are worth the risk. Wishing us all good health!

What!? A weird supplement that actually works?
History: I started developing problems with my wrists (especially the right one) and my right elbow in my mid-twenties. In my wrists I intermittently felt dull pain and weakness, with a vague feeling of brittleness in them at almost all times. My right wrist would sometimes dip suddenly with weakness as I held a hot cup of tea, splashing the steaming liquid onto my chest or lap. My right elbow constantly felt numb and weak, which made it extremely uncomfortable to do push-ups, and sometimes it would even catch when I shaved! Then I got my current job: nothing but sitting and typing for eight straight hours a day. The pain in my wrists (especially the right) got worse and gained an element of twitchy tightness. The numbness started traveling from my elbow into my forearm. I developed pain in my hip-tendons from long periods of sitting in an uncomfortable seat. It was so frustrating, because neither stretching nor vigorous daily walking did much to help, and I've never been fat, lazy or overly fond of fast food! Sometimes it would get a little better on the weekend, but the general trend was toward the progressively worse. One day, a co-worker of mine mentioned that she was taking some kind of anti-inflammatory fibrin-dissolving silkworm stuff to combat a uterine condition that prevents pregnancy. Since I am of the curious sort who will try just about any weird thing in the off chance that it will improve quality of life, I immediately procured a bottle of Doctor's Best and started taking two nightly (at least two hours away from food). There was no immediate effect. However, just before I finished my first 90-count bottle, I awoke to find my wrist pain reduced by about a shocking 90 percent, and my elbow all but cured of its nagging numbness! When I stood up from my chair to use the bathroom at work that day, I felt none of that tense pain in my hips. Oddly, that very night, I was stirred from sleep by a peculiar "crackling" sensation in my sternum and wrists, like ice thawing . . . My joint and tendon pains are improving all the time, and now my stretches actually feel like they are achieving something; I can't believe how limber I feel after doing them! I know there's a lot of snake oil out there, but trust me: serrapeptase works! True, it takes its sweet time in doing its thing, but you've got to stick with it for at least a bottle. Oh sure, your physician might roll his greasy, uncaring eyes at your mention of this amazing enzyme, but what has he actually got for you other than big bills and no results? Please, just try it for yourself and see! I really hope that serrapeptase may yet help me with some other problems, but even if it doesn't, I'm both impressed and satisfied. UPDATE, 11/17/2015: Well, all the good things mentioned above still hold. Also, within the past week, the annoying little sharp pains I would always feel in my knees after a long walk completely went away! I never mentioned them before because they never made it hard for me to do anything; they simply made me feel a bit brittle and old before my time. I have been taking 4,000 FU of nattokinase per day with this since late October, though. Does the combination have a stronger effect? Do problems of the lower body take longer for the enzyme(s) to resolve? I'm not sure, but I'd be kind of stupid to stop taking this stuff now. Anyway, neato! If something else nice happens to me, I will write about it here.
