Solidly built, at least mine is, does the job.
The gun itself is great, I've only used it once but seems solidly built. The rubber round the handle is very close to the feel of a real Makita device which surprised me. I did read the instruction manual and expected to have to wait some minutes for it to warm up. I felt the nozzle to determine when it was a reasonable temperature based on my experience with the Bosch GluePen, as I know it's easy to break the more flimsy glue guns if you try to force the glue through when it's not up to melting point. A wisp of vapor came from the nozzle so I assumed it was ready. The glue came out steadily, and didn't really drip at all when I eased up on the trigger. I'm very pleased with how it works. I tried the gun with both genuine Makita and a relatively high quality knock-off by Axion (no longer manufactured), both 3Ah. Both fitted well, although not quite with the smooth action that makita tools have, I think this is more to do with how the opening is angled than the actual dimensions of the receptacle. You're not going to have any problems with battery fitting if they're all like mine. Now the -ve points (and these are being picky, no reason to remove a star). The supplied sticks were 145mm long which is right for the gun, but the extra sticks suggested by Amazon to go along with it were 100mm. 100mm is too short for the gun trigger mechanism to push in, because it pushes from a point about 110mm from the business end of the glue stick, so you need to put in more than one. It would have been nice if it made it a bit clearer what sticks were supplied with it, and how many (20 with mine). It's in the picture but not in the description.2nd point, it would have been nice if it stood up without the battery connected. I stow my batteries when not in use as it encourages me to keep them charged, and obviously the whole point of the Makita 18v system is that you swap the batteries around so this means another trip to the gun when it's cool to take the battery out and put it away.Really these are minor points and I wouldn't hesitate to buy again, even if it only lasted me a year or two of regular use. Being able to use the 18v system instead of mucking about charging my Bosch GluePen makes it worthwhile, and I really can't fault the price. I can see I'm going to have to investigate the other items in the Mellif range, in particular I have my eye on the hot air gun for doing heatshrink sleeving and I think that will be my next purchase, based on the quality of this item. Well done Mellif, and for any readers, you should just buy this without thinking, it's a no-brainer at this price.

Best Hot Glue Gun !
Bought this because I use Makita 18v for nearly all of my tools and needed a cordless hot glue gun.Used it for the first time today and found fit to be superb !It heats up very quickly doesnt drip and is nice and light even with the battery attached !Cannot fault it and wished I had bought it long ago, as my Arrow one was pretty well useless.Highly recommend ! !

The mighty ,cordless makita like, glue gun.
Decided to buy this cordless glue gun as one I had which was corded, stopped working. Also thought of getting this one as I already had makita batteries which could be used with the gun. After arrival, I inserted the battery after a bit of fiddling. Turned switch on and after 2 minutes light colour changed indicating it was ready to use.Glue came out in a thin stream and successfully managed to stick some plastic together. All in all very good product especially when there are no cables training about.

Total game changer!
Great product! I work decorating homes and businesses for Christmas and for years have just used a corded glue gun carrying the extension cable with me up ladders etc. I came across this and because use a makita drill have numerous makita batteries so I thought it was worth a try. This product was a complete game changer for me! It would last a full day with a single battery, made working at heights so much easier and certainly saved me so much time. I would say this was my best buy of the year!

Brilliant glue gun
I first saw someone on YouTube using one of these glue guns and since Makita don’t have one in their range and seeing as this glue gun is similar, as I’m a bit of a Makitaphile it was a no brainier, anyway it’s just brilliant, cheap, very effective and it comes with enough glue sticks to keep me happy for a multitude of projects I’ve got lined up for it, for this price you can’t go wrong, thanks Amazon 😎😎
