An excellent book that inspires you to succeed beyond your fears
This book is great for anyone who has a dream and feels held back by fear and doubt. It’s full of excellent information that is simple to implement and is easy to read.Right from the get-go I felt like Scott Allan was inside my head. He described my own avoidance tactics for not getting stuff done. He understood my frustration with procrastination. And even though he empathised, he won’t let me get away with them…. my excuses don’t cut it! He has an answer.I was surprised that while I was reading, I paused to set up some meetings that I’d been postponing because he insisted that I’d feel better if I stopped worrying about it and simply took action. He was right. Once I got off the couch and did some things that I’d been avoiding, I stopped being fearful of the outcome.I think Scott Allan is the voice of experience and sound advice. He challenges your limiting beliefs, and gently encourages you to grow.Do It Scared is well–written, insightful and encouraging. I feel like Scott Allan has been though many of his own challenges to master the topic of fear. His experiences give him the authority to address the real issues behind fear. As he says, “Buying in to short–term pleasure is investing in long-term pain. This is the core of our fear”.You must get a copy of this book if you want to move forward from the stronghold of your fears. Five stars.

Change your relationship with FEAR, and the world is yours!
Early in this book Scott Allan says: "When someone says it can’t be done I immediately think: You are right. It can’t be, not by you, and not with that attitude, but I’ll give it a try."That quote summed up the book for me. It motivated me to read the entire book in 45 minutes. The quotes to start each chapter, the great stories of some of our heroes and the chapter summaries made this book so an easy read. It was also an extremely powerful read.As an author, I found myself wishing I had read this book six months ago. I could have handled some of those inner demons with ease that made my procrastinate. I am now equipped to push forward when fear sets in. What really resonated with me were the simple yet powerful concepts that I could not quite put my finger on, until I read this book. The Ostrich Effect is a critical concept for people to understand, and yet simple to avoid once you understand it.This book is worth the read just for the last few chapters about organizing your lists and tasks. The special sauce, however, is that if you change your relationship with fear, the world is yours. Learn how inside this great book! The Ostrich EffectAllan, Scott (2017-01-14). Need Motivation to make 2017 a Success? Then, this book is for you.
A must read for anyone that wants to put the past behind them and obtain a higher degree of personal success. My favorite quote, which resonated the most with me was "We choose to take action or not. You either want it or you don’t. You can let yourself run away, or you can face the unknown and charge ahead."The overall pace and concepts of the book were masterful and provided enough details that I was able to easily implement. After reading this book I am ready to tackle my 2017 resolutions with a new perspective.

FOCUS ON YOUR GAINS AND NOT THE GOAL.
THIS GUY NAILED IT! I've been a "work in progress" all my life. Don't wait until you've been "beat to death" by those in the world who don't have the STONES to "walk the walk". As Scott Allan succinctly said "Focus on Your Gains and Not the Goal". I will add to this "Stop looking for the END, the BIG PICTURE. You know the reason God is providing you with your "Daily Bread" is because He knows, for YOU, it's not about the destination, it's about the JOURNEY. Enjoy the ride. The journey is the destination!. --- Jim Jobin Inventor of VersaBands dot com.

A must-read for all the scaredy cats out there!
A must-read for all the scaredy cats out there!I read Scott Allan’s book Empower Your Life and I really liked his style, so I got ‘Do It Scared’ as soon as it was available, and I was delighted to find that it is every bit as good as the first one I read. Allan’s books are packed with no-nonsense, no excuses advice that literally anyone can benefit from. I love the way he shares lots of his own hurdles and thought processes and you know when you are reading his book that he really has overcome a lot of his own hurdles. He doesn’t preach, like some other self-help writers do, and he gives you all the facts and examples to show you how you can break through your fears and achieve success in any area of your life – if you are prepared to do the work. And let’s face it, we all know there is no magic pill…success comes from trying, failing, and then succeeding.Allan clearly has an excellent grasp of human psychology and he takes you step-by-step through 14 chapters, covering a range of issues and clarifying how you can get over the obstacles. From the introduction, on what is holding you back, through to aiming high for your vision of impossibility, to taking the first leap, partnering with the right people, overcoming your fear of looking stupid, laying bare the way we disguise our fear with distractions (and gosh, don’t we all do that?), to understanding self-doubt, bad habits, failure, limitless thinking, rejecting what you don’t want, imagining what you do, tackling the difficult tasks, and building confidence ‘Brick-by-Brick’, this book covers it all. If you really want to find the courage to face down your fears, break through and ‘Do It Scared’, this book has got you covered. Highly recommended.Maria McMahonAuthor, Law of Attraction Shortcut Secrets &A Pocketful of Thank You

Do It Scared - Hell Yeah!
I love Do It Scared! Courage isn't what you do in the absence of fear, but rather what you do in spite of fear! Scott Allan makes that abundantly clear, but what's more, he crafts a compelling argument to get you off your a*$ and just get it done. His book is a step-by-step, practical guide to doing so. What's more, Scott Allan leads by example - and that's amazing. If you have a BIG dream, but haven't had the courage to get it done yet, buy this book. You won't be disappointed.
