I purchased the RSC edition in anticipation of seeing David Tennant in Stratford and I found it the most enlightening version of Richard II that I have read. The introduction puts this play into historical context and reinforces how daring Shakespeare's themes were at the end of the Elizabethan era.The explanatory notes at the foot of every page add depth to each speech, filling in gaps in understanding of Shakespearian English.This book is perfect for all that enjoy Shakespeare and of or those that would like to try.

Clear, well presented text. Well suited for use in study or rehearsal. Comfortable in the hand for sight-reading.

I chose the rating because although the item arrived promptly, I was very disappointed in it, because the print was the most incredibly small -- much smaller than any other book I have seen recently. Probably wouldn't worry a school child, but I find it a real struggle and, therefore, I am very upset! I think it would be worth your while to contact the seller because it is something they could rectify when re-printing.Thank you.Shirley
