Okay for adults and older kids
I bought this for my dad, who has Alzheimer's. This particular book has a lot of "shades" of colors in the color lists. It is definitely too complicated if the person coloring doesn't know the different shades of each color and/or doesn't have a large selection of pencils or markers. It is a nice book though.

An overly lengthy, detailed explanation of my thoughts for this book
The good:It's a coloring book. It does its job. There were times when my mood was spiraling and I turned to this book. To be specific (and everyone is different) I can't say I felt calmer, but it kinda hit the brakes on my anxiety and I didn't get worse, so, big plus there. The bad:First of all, if you're excited to color any of the animals seen on the cover, don't bother. Not a single animal on the cover is actually used in the bookIt's titled "Forest Animals", depicts mostly African species, yet doesn't have a very good selection of jungle environments. Most of the pictures are animals or heads of animals against either a very blue-heavy background or green-heavy background. Meanwhile, there's a massive variety of plants, fruits, and flowers that could have been used to add more variety of colors and "something else" to color instead of it just being a big open background of 1-2 colorsAs for the selection of animals, out of 23 pages, there are 3 owl and 2 rhino pages. That's kind of repetitive considering the length of the book. They already had African animals in mind yet couldn't think of any monkeys, apes, or snakes to use? Also, there's a koala and set of house cats which came out of left field and, even better, a random unicorn. As for the colors used for the animals, the cover depicts realistic animals with accurate colors. I felt like half the pictures looked rather...ugly when completed. Of course, no one says they HAVE to be accurately colored; there are plenty of mandala/ stained glass styled animal coloring books where a variety of non-accurate colors are used. However, they still compliment each other to give off an enchanting or mystical feel. Some of the animals in this book look kind of gross when finished, ESPECIALLY the cats on page 2! They look like they ate a bunch of crayons and threw up on each other. For the direction of colors, I was honestly irritated at the fact that the entire color catalogue is present on every single page even if they're not used. I figured I'd set aside the 10-ish colors needed for a particular picture, but no you get the entire list of all 30 colors on every page. I don't know if it was meant to be "fun" to find out which ones you needed, but I found it irritating. Lastly, this entire book abuses the green color. By the end of the book, my green colored pencil is nearly two inches shorter than every other pencil (it was a brand new box I had ordered along with the book).Closure:It's a coloring book; it gives you something to color. Based on the false advertising of the front cover, the boring backgrounds, and some very odd color choices/ patterns of the animals, I honestly wouldn't recommend it.

Not what I expected
This was a disappointing purchase! I was wanting a stress release but with this book being a color by number it asks for way to many shades of the same color so makes it difficult to color picture correctly

Book was a big disappointment quality was not as good as others I have done.
I did not like the color by number system because quality of book was a disappointment and I have done other color by number books.
