Great powder, buy it!
I have repurchased this powder so many times. I have tried other brands and always come back to this one. It is my favorite protein powder by far. I cannot recommend it enough. I like the flavor and the texture a lot.

but it's not too bad in the one I make with bananas and/or sweet ...
I bought Vega Sport Protein Powder after doing some research about vegan protein powders and then purchasing a Vega Sport sample pack that included a berry, vanilla, and chocolate protein sample (among other things). I started with the vanilla thinking this would be the easiest flavor to incorporate into my routine which consists of a veggie/fruit smoothie for breakfast and sometimes a pre or post workout smoothie. I am not a big fan of the vanilla in my breakfast smoothie, but it's not too bad in the one I make with bananas and/or sweet potatoes, almond milk, and peanut butter powder. I think the vanilla leaves a bit of a noticeable after taste and seems to sweet in an artificial way (I can't think of a better way to describe it). That being said, I really like the chocolate in the aforementioned smoothie. It complements the peanut butter powder really well and I don't have the after taste issue I have with the vanilla. I was somewhat surprised to find that I love the berry flavored powder. Now I miss it when I make a smoothie without it. I think it helps smooth out the texture a bit (I mix my breakfast fruit/veggie smoothie with non-sweet green tea that I brew). I ran out and used some of the Vega Protein & Greens berry flavored powder (which was available at Target when I ran out while out of town). I definitely prefer the Vega Sport. I do always cut my portions in half so it's nice that the big container comes with a scoop that measures out a half portion. Adding some protein to my breakfast smoothie has helped me not be hungry before lunch. I'm a terrible morning eater, I'm just not usually hungry first thing, so having a liquid breakfast is very convenient. I'm also not an athlete per se. I chose the Vega Sport over some of the other Vega options because I have arthritis in my hip and the Vega Sport contains a number of ingredients that help with inflammation (turmeric and tart cherry are two of these) and the lack of animal proteins is beneficial too since I'm just not ready to go full vegetarian in my daily life but I am trying to limit things that can trigger my inflammation when I can. As part of my anti-inflammation eating, exercising, and weight maintenance program, Vega Sport has really been helping me. It tastes good and seems to work. I haven't been using the Vega Sport as much as a post-workout protein option as it is probably intended, but I do still think I'm getting some performance benefits from it (I use some other Vega Sport products as well).

Great Product
Can feel the benefits already. Berry flavor is definitely the best.

Nice switch of flavors
Nice mix up from vanilla or chocolate flavors. Has an aftertaste but overall solid mix into a smoothie.

Taste, Formula Different and Worse. Disappointed.
Vega took a great thing and messed it up. Do not spend your money on this new product. Let's start with how the formula actually changed. The calories per serving stayed the same, with still ~45 servings per container. Total fat dropped from 3.5g to 3.0g, saturated fat dropped from 1.5g to 1.0g. Total carbs fell from 6g to 4g, while sodium shot up from 330mg to 450mg. Protein was steady at 30g per serving, while calcium was depleted from 260mg to just 40mg. Iron increased from 5.6mg to 7mg, as did potassium (130mg to 160mg). The calcium decline was really unfortunate, since calcium is among the key electrolytes that require replenishing after a workout… you would think a “performance & recovery” mix like Vega’s claims to be would maintain a notable calcium level. The more jarring change was to the amino acid blend. I’m attaching a screenshot of the changes from the old to new formula for each individual component, and the new formula sees the total amino acid profile fall from 30.86 grams to 30.00 grams. Arginine, glutamic acid, lysine, and tyrosine are all now at least 0.10 grams lower per serving than the old formula, for example. Vega had a great amino acid profile in the old formula, and could have been perfected with some more EAAs in my opinion. Instead, they slimmed down amino acids altogether. Wrong move. In addition to the new packaging, everything else is different, too. The taste is different: my current tub of old-formula mix still smells like berries, even after being open for a handful of months. The new tub smells artificial and more salty, smells more chalky overall, in an unpleasant way. The color is now more artificially “berry”-like in the glass/bottle after mixing, which isn’t necessarily a problem in and of itself, but certainly doesn’t comfort me when the smell is less ‘genuine’ and the formula is weaker. Others have noted the lower fill line on the new packaging. The weight of the product is the same (4 pounds, 3 ounces for the big tubs) and the number of servings is the same (about 45). I can’t be sure why the fill line is lower, since weight and number of servings is unchanged, but I agree that it is lower. Instead of being about halfway up the tub, the fill line is now about a third of the way up the tub. I will be returning this product and will not buy Vega again unless they revert back to the old formula. I don’t care if costs are rising – for someone who is allergic to dairy and whey, vegan protein powders are a necessity. This was perfect for me in ingredients, smell and taste, and now Vega ruined it. To say I’m disappointed and frustrated is an understatement.

Green and clean protein power 💪⚡
This vegan based protein powder has me obsessed, it tastes amazing, I add it into my smoothies or oatmeal for a boost of clean protein. The best part? No weird aftertaste bor artificial ingredients. Just pure plant based goodness. Highly recommend for a friendly, sustainable protein option!

NSF certified; plant based; chocolate doesn't taste great
I was excited to try this protein for the NSF certification and protein content. It's plant based, but I don't care about that as much I was just looking for a supplement with a good amount of protein that's NSF certified that tastes good. Taste (2/5): didn’t love the chocolate. It’s definitely creamy and you taste chocolate but it’s got this weird sort of tartness (I believe it’s the tart cherry) that I didn’t enjoy as much. For me, it took away from the chocolate flavor Texture (3/5): SUPER THICK. It suggests doing 12 oz of water but I had to do more like 18-20oz due to how thick it was. As with most pea protein blends, it’s still got a chalky texture and taste but from all the pea proteins I’ve tried this seems to be the case. Overall, if you’re looking purely from a nutritional standpoint and content, it seems worth it. However, if you’re looking for a good tasting one, I’d probably try another flavor or another brand. The taste was bad enough for me to not recommend it.

Most delicious and smooth protein powder
One of the only protein powders without an aftertaste and one you wont get sick of even if you drink it daily. 100% worth your money.
