Quality Case with Style for your New 3DS XL
Just got the blue version of this case from Japan as a gift so I decided to write a short review considering these nice cases have no reviews yet. It cost around $17 in Japan so the current listing of $28 is a bit more so consider this review of the blue version to be based on only the case and not the price and then see if the price is right for you.It is a pretty basic case but it is surprisingly lined on most of the inside with a soft velvet like material that won't scratch your New 3DS XL. It snaps on pretty firmly and initially I had a little trouble snapping the top piece on enough. Once I got the case on I really liked that it kept a slim profile and looked really nice. Considering how nice the blue looks, I'm sure the gold and red versions look just as nice.Functionally I believe it should protect your New 3DS XL moderately against minor falls and from scratches. Keeping a slim profile you do lose some drop protection but I'd prefer it slimmer personally. One issue some might have is that the aluminum makes it a bit smooth to hold securely. It isn't anything being conscious about wont fix but it's something to be aware of when purchasing this case. The case is a mix of aluminum and plastic and there are no sharp edges. I also appreciate that there is no flex to the case like some of the other softer plastic cases have. It snaps on firmly and there really is little worry that it will come off unintentionally. One minor issue I have with the case is that there is a small plastic piece that covers the power button and is meant to make it easier to depress while the device is in the case. I don't find it easier and it can be actually slightly more difficult to press it in the case but not so bad that I'd deduct a star for it.Overall I really like the case. It keeps my 3DS XL slim, it protects it, and it really looks nice. Don't expect bullet proof protection and be aware of the lack of much grip but if you understand what you're getting I can easily recommend this well made case.

Pretty awesome case, except for the power button.
The case is gorgeous and it's a nice, snug fit against the (new) 3DS. The only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 is because the power button doesn't work quite right. The case's power button appears to press the 3DS power button, but it must not be lining up just right or something, because the button doesn't work unless we take it out of the case. We ended up removing the case's power button and use the stylus to press the 3DS power button whenever we need to.
