entertaining

This was the best "time travel" movie I have ever seen. It's plot is original and sophisticated and heartbreaking / melancholy. The casting was perfect, the effects were subtle, good, and did not interfere with the excellent story. I have watched this many times now.

I liked it so much I bought a copy.

Not into sci-fi. Not expected to like it as much as I did. Entertaining.

I absolutely love this movie! From the acting, writing, cinematography, and score, this movie is a masterpiece! Perfectly cast and absolutely worth watching! You’ll probably find yourself listening to the score for weeks after! 11/10 stars!

There was nothing to dislike about this film.I saw it in theaters twice on the same day.When it was available to purchase I was quick to purchase it.Great film.

The first time I watched this movie was on an airplane. I must have been really distracted because I walked away with the feeling that I liked it but with no clear idea why. Having just watched it a second time, I understand what it was. I love fish out of water stories and combining that with a first contact premise is just awesome. I don't think that is what the movie is ultimately about though. Without spoiling anything, I think the movie is about perspective and how little credit we give to how little we truly can predict about our lives.I think that if you only enjoy the Us vs Them dynamic of the alien genre you will most likely not like this movie. I love me some 'Aliens' from time to time, but this film requires you to come to terms with it's theme in order to understand what it's saying.PS Do not watch this film with ads. Holy hell the hatchet job that was done on the cut I watched was brutal. Scenes that I distinctly remember having more fluid transitions, of which there are many, are just hard cut in the ad-free version like AMC+. Avoid at all costs.

Best sci-fi movie in decades. Such a clever story, well told. Eerie aliens, but never scary or violent. I love the emphasis on communication, which is exactly the problem we'll face if we ever meet up with real aliens.

About the Blu-ray: My copy plays perfect. I have a Blu-ray optical drive and PowerDVD 14 installed in a Windows 10 desktop. I don't get the menu 'error' mentioned here by most of the customers. Maybe it is because I am playing it on a computer rather than through a Blu-ray player for TV.The menu can be controlled using the keyboard keys in PowerDVD.The screen selection breaks the movie into 16 parts.I haven't watched the extras yet. But I have skimmed through them and they look interesting.About the movie: I liked it, although I didn't completely understand it. It is a science fiction drama/mystery. It is slow but not too slow, and got my interest from the very beginning. I will watch it again with someone to understand it. And maybe those extras I skipped hold some information as well.
