Q: Can a straw fit in the opening of the lid?

Yes, but I don’t think you should be drinking really hot coffee through a straw.

Q: Can the cork bottom be removed for use with a coffee warmer?

I have not tried to remove the cork bottom, but I have had no problem heating up my coffee in a microwave for 75 to 85 seconds with no harm to the cork or cup.

Q: Why are these not safe for the dishwasher or microwave? My first 2 sets were! The cork bottom has stayed on.

dear customer, these coffee mugs can't be used in microwave, oven and dishwasher as the cork buttom. It can be used in freezer.

Q: I like it, have been using it for a while, is there any way to maintain it?

I’ve found that the best way to maintain it is hand wash only.
