Pair of XJ Cherokee Hood Aluminum Louvered Cooling Panels (Bolt-on) Kit

Fit nicely. Havent seen a benefit to it if I am being honest but they look good.

Great product and not the issues suggested by others. Thickness is appropriate for application, bare aluminum takes paint fine if etched and primer is used. No need for templates as each side is the template for the opposite side. Remove hood, flip upside down on soft sawhorses, use left louver for right pattern and vice versa. Trace outline. 3/4” in on all edges and cut. Line up louver, drill holes, cleco or bolt in two or so spots, drill rest. Repeat on opposite side. Cutoff wheel, remove smaller outline 3/4” in from edges. Silicon edges and install stainless hardware; Stainless 1/4-20 hex head machine bolts and stainless ny-lock nuts. I couldn’t press these for the price. Great product. Lowered the temp (aftermarket return temp sensor in the 2000) 8-10 degrees F. Took it away from “hot” multiple times while crawling in hot dusty conditions here in Central WA. Recommend.

Installed these louvers on my 96 xj. If your familiar with the xj engine bay, you know they hold in heat. Hood spacers would have worked but i like the look of the louvers. I dont like cutting big holes in the hood. But i did I painted the louvers and left the hardware stainless. That's the first picture. The second picture was after I washed the jeep the paint came right off lol. Should have used a primer. Overall it works and looks good. I would say these should be priced at $60. After tax these ran me $100 over all good product

After looking at the reviews on Amazon and product pictures I finally bit the bullet. They actually look really good. There are only two things that keep me from giving them 5 stars 1. Polished aluminum is very hard to paint black. Many people paint them black. They should just come in black. 2. Hardware is about 1/2 in too long so the bolts stick down quite a bit through the hood, and probably 4 or 5 of the lock nuts tightened about half way then would go no further. In one case, I broke the bolt trying to tighten. No matter, it looks good from the top, maybe I'll replace hardware later if they start to loosen up. Overall they are a good look and let the engine dissipate heat quite a bit better, we'll see how they withstand the heat in the desert southwest!

I have had 2 sets of these. Both are stamped out nice, and make the jeep look tough. They do help the engine cool better. I scratched them up a little and put primer and paint on. The current ones have been going strong almost 2 years.

Make sure you're fitting perfect in your hood. Not a production issue or anything with the fabrication. It's just the hood and louvers have 2 different shapes. My engine was going to 210+ bc of all my mods. Now it didn't hit 210 I'll see more as I drive it more. My rear locker is toast and waiting for new axle, then I'll be able to judge it better when I can actually normal drive it

I installed this in a 2000 cherokee xj to help vent heat. I installed a fan on the driver's side (RHD) to help push air through the vents. The vents are well made and provide a good coverage for venting. You can't beat the price and the thickness of the metal is perfect.

The product itself is great, the screws are stainless steel so that's nice too. The install is not super easy but far from hard. If you want the cuts air tight measure twice cut once, spray paint the exposed metal to avoid rust, I also used caulking along the edges to ensure any water that gets into the engine bay be from the holes not from the gap between the hood and the Louvers. No instructions come with the product either, not really required but honestly who doesn't enjoy more information.
