SPC Performance EZ Shim Dual Angle Camber/Toe Shim (Red)

These simple shims allowed me to resolve a rear camber problem on my 2004 Buick Lesabre. With a known excess negative camber issue, it became a matter of using the supplied instructions and chart to identify the amount of change the shim should apply for both camber and toe, clip out the regions where the hub mounting bolts fall, and a secondary area where the brake caliper mounts will rest.The hardest part of my shim project had nothing to do with the shims themselves; it was in removing the existing brake caliper and wheel hub, which had seized to the mount along the rear lower rim. It took considerable argument with a hammer to persuade the hub to come out. A bit of cleanup with a wire brush was necessary to remove rust and corrosion from the seized areas.My Lesabre rear wheels included disc brakes, which necessitated my purchase of the supplementary custom shims that allow the brake caliper to be mounted such that the caliper itself remains centered over the rotor. It took some trial and error to select the proper combination of caliper bolt shims, which was the most tedious part of the installation. Note that simple round washers would be a less than ideal solution, as they won't be cut to accommodate the arc of the shim that intrudes onto the mounting region of the caliper bracket.These shims provide +/-1.5 degrees of camber correction; in my case, I needed a full +1.0 degree correction on the driver's side, and the entire +1.5 degrees on the passenger side. It is essential to understand that installation on the driver's side must be done with the selection numbers facing *away* from the installer, as noted in the instructions. I recommend using a simple Sharpie marker on the shim once the proper adjustment is dialed in - the embossed numbers are a bit hard to read, and the inner ring of one shim came loose during installation. The pen marks made realignment simple! Also, double and triple-check the measurement lookups before you snip out the bolt regions!I'm impressed with the simple concept behind these shims, and would not hesitate to recommend them to any DIYer who needs to make adjustments for which controls are not provided by the manufacturer.

This little jewel saved me about $500. Got new tires, tire shop said the rear wheels were "out of alignment" and needed special shims. Then they told me the PRICE for shims and installation, Wo!!!. Luckily the shop also gave me the alignment sheet off their computer. With it and going to this product's web site was able to figure out how to install shims. Fairly easy installation. New Tires wearing very well. Suspect the rear wheels were out of alignment when vehicle was purchased new! 2006 Toyota Corrolla.

Because this is "one size fits all" for almost all cars, it will probalby not fit your car without some work. On my 2003 Toyota Corolla, (that had some toe-out on the right rear wheel beacause of a huge shoulder pothole incident), I had to grind the inside diameter of this shim larger with a dremel tool for 20 minutes. And the pattern they suggested to break out tabs for the bolt holes was not quite right so I had to break off more tabs then necessary, which may have affected alignment slightly. I ended up needing a bigger toe-in adjustment so I ended up buying a second one (you can't re-use them if you get the adjustment wrong because the bolt holes will be in the wrong place). On the second one, I did not use their pattern to position the bolt hole tabs, instead I put the shim up against the wheel and marked the bolt locations with a magic marker, then broke off the tabs that were marked. That worked better. After the second try, I took it in to the shop for an alignment check and it is perfect. Of course, you want to begin with an alignemnt check before setting up the shim, so you will have the digital alignment printout in hand as a starting point. Many shops will do the second check for you under warranty, for free. Tools needed: needle nose pliers to break off tabs, magic marker, dremel tool or drill with small grinding fitting (if you have a Corolla). Of course, you will need a ratchet wrench (recommend a torque wrench to get it right) to remove and replace the bolds holding your rear axle in place.

kind of a waste of money they say they fit my vw but in reality the things were way too big hardly fit the rear axle

この商品は左右二枚組でなければ完全ではありません。一枚でタイヤの上死点に合わせてトー、キャンパーを番号をそろえて使うのですが、そもそもトー角が左右で１８０度異なるので二枚セットで売っているのです。また、取り付けることによってトレッドも延長されるので、片側だけの取り付けはしません。アメリカでは一枚ずつの販売があるようです。代理店のamtecs様もads-wired様も二枚セットでの販売と回答いただきました。並行品であることや一枚のみであることが明記されていなかったので、返品の運びとなりました。時間を無駄にして大変腹立たしいです。正規輸入とか代理店とかの文言のあるところで購入すべきです。Primeと表示されるところは信用していましたので、大変勉強になりました。

ＤＩＹでやられるかたにはオススメしません。取り付けは簡単ですが、計測のほうがめんどくさいです。
