Better an empty house than an unruly tenant.
Bought for my nephews birthday. If he cries I will amend my review. I have no interest in reading it. Not a fan of daft lads.

A funny though touching look at Boro's finest
They say there's a lot of sadness behind comedians and it's certainly true in Bob Mortimer's case. After suffering from well publicised heart proy a few years ago, Bob has decided to tell his story. He's not lost his North Eastern roots (nice mention of 'scraps' at the chip shop) and it's a journey of going down a career path towards being a solicitor until one night he decides to checkout a comedy night at a local pub..Before long he's joining in with Vic Reeves (aka Jim Moir) and they're signed to Channel Four. There's some doubt that it's more than a flash in the pan and there's a hint throughout that he feels he's intruding on the whole showbiz scene. He's quite cutting about his own a ting abilities (or lack of them as he sees it).BM comes across as a nice bloke who to a certain extent got lucky that night he went to see Vic Reeves but who has more than made it into a double act.

An absolute gem of a book
This book did not dissapoint in any respect. Its entertaining, funny and inspirational and puts you on a roller coaster of emotions. An ordinary lad coping with some difficult aspects of life before finding his talent to make people laugh. Even if you are not a fan of Bob's humour you will find this a worthwhile read. It may at times bring you close to tears and then have you laughing out loud. A remarkable story from a remarkable man. Nice one Bob!

Disappointing
It may have been better if Bob had used a ghostwriter. I listened to this on audible as I wanted to hear Bob read his own book . But I was disappointed as were many of my friends reading it . It was like Bob was reading out loud like at school and was awkward at times rather than telling his story. Not as funny as I had hoped. The stories were lacking in detail at times which meant that the ‘would I lie to you ‘ element was lost. However it did show how socially awkward Bob really is which was also quite sad.If you’re expecting a laugh out loud book the you will be disappointed.

A load of eggy nonsense!
This book is lovely. It's written by a lovely bloke. It's heartwarming and it's unbelievable - partially because Bob has claimed to have shoved some lies in it, just for a joke like. It all just adds to the book. For me, as a northern lad who only really ever had footy and music and who's sense of humour borders on the strange I see a lot of myself in Bob. I like how Bob is just Bob and he just does Bob stuff. Writes like Bob and acts like Bob. We should all be a bit more Bob! Buy it, read it, enjoy it.
