Wireless System
This wireless system is great for the money. The one thing I don’t like is the antenna gets in the way and causes a noise. It is a problem for me.

What you should know about this model...
The Sennheiser XSW system is an entry-level wireless microphone system. It comes in several configurations of which I own the Lav mic version. As a professional videographer, audio is as important as the images I capture. Sennheiser has become a standard for many professionals that rely on the quality of build and performance that some of their units provide. I have owned the Wireless G3 reporter pack for years and under heavy abuse, it still keeps going as the day I bought them. This XSW system is not built for field operations or necessarily for taking it out to gigs occasionally. This is better suited to a hard install in a home, business or professional studio where the base unit will remain basically connected and untouched with a predictable distance or range use between the base unit and the wireless pack. This unit is made cheaply, presumably to cut costs and offer consumers an affordable version of their world-class professional-level microphone technology. I have not noticed great differences between the audio quality since in this unit I am using the famous ME2 microphone, which in itself represents a third or sometimes half the price of the unit itself and is a world-class microphone on its own right. The bodypack is also cheaply made with mostly plastic parts. It may survive a short drop, but not repeatedly like the metal housed G2, G3, and G4 units. All in all, it is a performing unit with little frills. You are able to change the frequencies and if you are mindful that you do not buy a unit about the 600mhz, you should be ok. Most of the higher frequencies have been sold to Cellular companies. If you are looking for something entry-level, need a wireless system that will give you good sound, this may be it. I am giving this three stars because of the construction quality and inferiority as compared to other units Sennheiser sells. For about $100 more you can get some better options in the Sennheiser family. Other commenters have reported noise and static on the line. This may due to several factors - 1. The batteries are extremely low in power. 2. The frequency may not be set to a clear channel. Something like a microwave can impact the transmission signal on the wireless, so check your environment and your frequency before you think it's broken. Also, if you have a unit in the 700 or 800 MHz range (which shouldn't be for sale anymore) this may get scratchiness and interference with the aforementioned cellular.

That it can be compared to any high quality Mic you use a cord with ....
Its still early for an accurate review but I have been a longtime sennheiser user . However I can say the wireless harnesses the same sound as the jacked mic i was using . Im very happy (smile)

Snap! Crackle! Pop!
Two units both returned to Amazon due to a lot of snap crackle pop while moving around with the wireless packs on my belt, in spite of very tight mic connection.Nice feature set and simple to set up and use, and mic quality was good but also did not like that transmitter and receiver shells were both plastic.
