My original dashboard (Driver Information Module) has become unreliable. It goes down and up randomly, so I need to have a backup for the speedometer function. My recent purchase "Kingneed HUD Speedometer Odometer Compass Head Up Display" fulfills my requirement for a backup speedometer. It is based on the GPS (Global Positioning System), so this item works independently of the original dashboard system. it only requires a standard 5 VDC USB supply.Thanks,Goran Karlsson

I was not able to find a magnetic compass that would work on the dash of my Corolla. No matter where I put it, magnetic interference from the car made it impossible to get an accurate reading with a magnetic compass. i tried three brands; none of them would work.. The Kingneed compass is electronic and uses satellite signals to accurately determine eight compass settings--north, south, east, west, and northeast, southeast, etc. Setup was easy and the display is bright green that is visible in sunlight. I positioned the compass on the center console in front of the gearshift lever. In my opinion, it is too distracting to mount up on the dash--I found myself looking at the compass on the dash instead of at the road. It's a good product.

Easy to mount on dash. Checked speed with separate speedometer and off my a few mph. Otherwise a decent speedometer.

I could not use because I have an older car.

Longevity remains to be seen but this little item works. I bought it for the compass, but I'm running oversize tires on my Toyota truck so the old cable drive speedometer isn't accurate. I checked this against the speedometer in my van which is all factory original and it's pretty accurate. It displays 8 points of the compass and it changes direction display surprisingly quickly. I like it.

I had high hopes for this, but I should’ve read the negative reviews more carefully.This compass depends on how well it can receive satellite positioning. Apparently I am not always in the right position.Normally, when you’re listening to GPS directions and driving, this isn’t a big problem because you move to a better place. However, when your GPS or other directions say, “head north,” and you can’t quickly figure out which way is north because your compass is searching for a signal, that’s not good.All I want is a cheap and reliable compass that I can put in my car’s center section and glance at when I need it. I don’t want to pay a fortune. I bought one at another store, and the thing just didn’t work because it was so cheaply made (it couldn’t decide where north was).This is disappointing and I would not recommend it. If you live in the desert and have clear view at all times of all satellites, it probably is good. Just don’t go to the mountains or any place with a lot of trees.PS: I never could get it to work at all. It kept searching.

The Kingneed service rep made contact with me to resolve my concerns, but required digital pictures that is not in my ability to provide on the required platforms. The compass function is brite enough, but the speedometer is not and is impossible to see in the daytime. I recently purchased a cheap no name digital speedometer from Amazon, to compare and that cheap one is just fine in brightness compared the Kingneed HUD. For me the Kingneed HUD was a poor purchase that is only useful to me for night time driving or to use the compass.

The speedometer font of my Fiat 500 is invisible and I ran the risk of speeding fines. Now I can see the speed in extra large font. I love it!!

We bought this for the compass function and we’re very happy with it. It was a plug and play and it’s easy to read.

I could not get this to work in my car, all I really wanted was the compass function and even it did not work. While I realize that it could be my cars electronics there was no indication by the supplier that it may not work in some cars, very disappointed and will likely return the product.

Easy to set up and use and provides accurate compass direction and car speed at a glance!
