Exactly what it needs to be
It's big, solid and heavy. By that I mean it's a solid piece of metal that shouldn't break, bend, twist or snap, if you use it as intended. Single bevel, so perfect edge for lefties. The blade I have is not 100% straight/flat. If you look down the edge, you can see a slight bump in the middle. Doesn't affect the sharpness, and isn't big enough to cause the tool to wander or cut un-evenly. But it is there. It was obviously hand-sharpened, and they rounded the tip off a bit so it's not like a razor point.Very thin and flat, could be difficult to pick up off a work-table. The plastic tip protector is nice, and I'm sure to use it since it's so sharp. After I wear down the edge, I'll probably trim the metal back a bit to make a perfectly straight cutting edge, and then sharpen it. I'm going to see how dangerous it is with a full point.Overall, great tool for lefties

Solid piece & would buy again as gifts
The media could not be loaded. Summary:One great solid piece throughout. Material, might be carbon steel folded 2/3x. Came exceptionally well sharpened and still sharp after a little less than 4 months of moderate use. It’s a great gift for yourself or someone else who is a carpenter/woodworkerDetailed Review:I have had this piece for a little less than four months while giving it moderate use. It maintains its sharpness, but that all really depends your utilization with it and the materials you’re scribing or doing your work onto.I think this piece might be a carbon steel that has been folded 2x or 3x. Which has done me well in the past and from what I’ve learned with more experienced carpenters. My main usage of the kiridashi is so that I can scribe onto the wood with a combination & speed square so that I can practice using the Japanese pull saw. Without the kiridashi, my saw technique is not great yet to keep a straight cut with the saw.Im sure master carpenters/woodworkers would enjoy this piece and use it in more ways it was intended for other than how I’m currently using it. So, it’s a great gift for yourself & others. 5/5

Amazing!
Super useful and extremely sharp! Much bette than any exacto knife I’ve used. It will stay sharp for a really long time and can be sharpened (if you do it properly) to last forever!! Highly recommend this as an exacto knife!

Incredibly sharp, handles amazing.
I loved how shard this Kiridashi was, I wish I knew it was a left handed one. But as a right handed person it has a ton of uses. Specially around square edges.

Great Tools
I suggest that you buy a right and a left handed one. They will cover most of your marking and trimming needs.

Love these knives!
These are solid. It stays razor sharp for a long time. Knife flat edge is flat and easy to sharpen. Get yourself a left and a right :)
