A busy firearm enthusiasts dream come true!!
I did some shooting this past weekend and I purposely left my guns dirty and did not clean them. I had already purchased this item from Amazon and was waiting for it to be delivered, so I decided this would be the perfect chance to test it out. I received the item today and quickly unboxed it and set it up on my table. I broke down four of my pistols and two BCG's that I took to the range and filled the tank up with simple green heavy duty solution and water mixed in a1:3 ratio. I put 2 slides and one BCG in the bath and ran it twice at 480 seconds each time and did this for both groups. When completely done, the solution which started out as a very light translucent purple, ended up almost black. I was absolutely amazed. There's no way that I could have gotten those parts as clean by hand as the machine did. I put the parts in a big bowl and ran clean tap water over them to get the cleaning solution off. I then took them outside and blow dried them off with my with my air compressor hose. Then I reassembled all the parts in my firearms and lubed them up really well. This process was so easy that I plan on buying another unit so that I can clean almost all my parts together in one sitting. I read other reviews were people were putting their parts in a solution inside a Ziploc bag and submerging the Ziploc bag in clean water in order to keep their tank cleaner. I understand the logic behind this and it makes complete sense but my logic was that I would just clean the tub out after I used it and wipe it out with a paper towel. Worked perfect and cleaned up just like new. To each their own I guess. Only time will tell how this unit will hold up, but I'm pretty confident that it should last a good while. Because of the price I paid for it, if it'll last a couple of years I will be completely satisfied. As a sidenote the sound it makes is kind of annoying. When I turned it on my wife and four-year-old kept looking around the house trying to figure out what that sound was. The sound is not loud but it is somewhat annoying. I didn't pay much attention because I was off doing five other things while it was running, but in the future I'll be using it in my work room with the door shut LOL! 5 star product so far

An ultrasonic cleaner that actually works!
I love this ultrasonic cleaner! My old cleaner died after very little use so i decided to spend a little more money and hopefully get something good. I definitely did and I'm so happy with the quality. The heater works amazing and gets hotter than i can even handle touching. There is no need to heat water your self and then put it in the cleaner. Instead you just pre heat the unit beforw cleaning. I usually just leave my parts inside the basket while it heats up. The other good thing about this is that is comes with a plastic basket which you really need if you don't want your parts to get scratched. My older cleaner would scratch parts if they made it to the middle of the cleaner. I also like the basket handles that fold, as well ad the fact my parts seem to stay in place more rather than jump around meeting in the middle and scratching on each other. (It's just very important to have a level surface.)I clean titanium parts as part of anodizing preparation and this works good at getting any polishing residue out of small crevices and anywhere else. I have also used it on other part materials like G10 knife scales that normally are really hard to get clean by just surface scrubbing. I would definitely recommend using this cleaner for anything you want cleaned that h20 and a little degreaser, definitely knife parts! Just don't throw in a whole knife you always want to take them apart, some knives have caged bearings and they could be ruined.Just to let you know, I'm not big on writing reviews. With this Amazon item i am so happy with the quality that i just had to get my experiences out there to people searching gorsomething that works the way it should. I wish someone did me that favor.PROS:It cleans greatPlastic basketBasket handles that foldGood quality displayKeeps parts levelHeats your distilled water really hotCONS:Can't find any!Bottom line is, if your having trouble deciding, look no further than here!

Well worth the value
I bought this because it had the same specs as a much more expensive model I was eyeing in a sporting goods store. So far it works fantastic, cleaned my suppressor baffles 100% better than hours of scrubbing, and only takes minutes. Some took several rounds but at only minutes it is time well spent. I've also used to clean old, very dirty jewelry and have been very impressed. Simple green in it works wonders.I would definitely recommend this if you have a need. Saves me lots of time.

Does good job, BUT, timer is way to short, and heater is under powered.
Been using this for a while, and it does have some nice features, but it also has flaws.CONS:Heater is way under powered.Timer is way too short.Plastic basketPROS:Nice tank size for the overall capacity - will fit a 6" 1911 or AR-10 upper receiver (without barrel). Would rather have a stainless steel wire or mesh basket as it would be impervious to most common cleaning solutions and additives. Plastic will melt with some cleaners &/or additives.Good ultrasonic action, but the heater only heats to 65C, and the timer only runs to 8 minutes. Heater is supposed to run up to 45 minutes. Not sure if it does or not...Starting with room temp tap water, my unit takes 4 cleaning cycles to reach 130F, so if you're using a bottled cleaning solution, it's going to take a while to reach max temp. Unit also has a limited max temp of 149F instead of 80C/176F like many of the commercial units. 149F is hot enough to cause nearly instant 1st degree burns, and 2nd degree burns with just a few seconds of contact, so it's not really for home use safety. Results would be fine for cleaning jewelry & other stuff that's not really caked with dirt. But I'm usually running two to four 8-minute cleaning cycles, as a single 8-minute cycle normally does a decent job, but not a complete job on anything that's really dirty.
