Bought for a 2017 Mazda 3. Incredibly easy install. Adds a feature that the little Mazda should have had from the factory. You can remove the hood prop rod completely if you choose, but it can be left installed if you don’t want to bother.

it came late, somwone opened the package then resealed it. but luckily all the hardware was intact. Fits well, no drilling, works like a charm but thise tiny clips are pain to insert once they are installed. BUT the hood will sit higher the usual about 1/8 or higher if your using it in an NA, the shocks sit on your fender boots, there's not much you can do about it.

While reading the various OEM options not available in America for my '17 3 I found that the Russian market can choose to have hood struts. I of course looked to see if I could order them through some means, but the only option was to spend well over $200 USD to order them and help fund communism in doing so. Being that I am a resourceful American capitalist I knew there must be another way, Chinese labor producing goods at prices well under the competition. Enter Autobahn88's hood struts. They are not OEM and they don't look like a factory option would, but it works well. The install took all of 20 minutes and the results are good. The struts hold the hood up higher than the stock prop does and they have enough force to push the hood up on their own past a certain point. They clear everything but the rubber trim pieces that cover the edge of the fenders, which only lifts up the corner at the lower strut mount. The upper mounts have a foam pad to help protect the underside of the hood. The lower mounts do bend the edge of the piece of the fender they mount to slightly, which may lead to a possible rusting point down the road. The instructions for install are lacking but provide enough pictures to figure it out so long as you have the basic ability to match similar things and know which hand is left and which is, through the process of elimination, the right. The kit included everything I needed except for a 10mm and 12mm socket and ratchet to make use of them with. The kit goes so far as to include grease and a cotton swab to apply it. I would have liked the hood mounts to attach using both bolts for the hood, but it isn't absolutely necessary. The lower mounts could have the ball mount drop lower and clear the rubber trim, but they don't need to. The lower mounts could really do with a slight standoff to avoid bending the edge of the fender. The instructions really should be more detailed, my countrymen are eating dissolving laundry detergent packets and could use more handholding when being instructed on what shouldn't and shouldn't be done. Overall it is a solid option that costs less than other options and does what is is suppose to. Note: The mounts pictured are nothing like the ones that come with the kit.

I love the concept, so I decided to give it a shot. The instructions (or lack there of) are quite shoddy, but it doesn't take much to figure them out. The mounts on the hood side are crude, but work. The mounting studs on the fender side are well crafted, but made of cheap material. As I was tightening one down, I applied ~20-25 lb. ft. of torque and it snapped right off. Another thing to beware of are the retaining clips on the piston, they're very small and can be lost easily. That being said, I would buy this again, knowing what I know now.

I got these for my 2022 RF. They were easy to install, and fit just fine. They actually lift the hood higher than the prop rod goes, so you have plenty of room to work under the hood. While they definitely aren't necessary, they are really convenient, and get the prop bar out of the way.

Doesn’t work on the 2021 Miata. Learned too late that Mazda made a change to the hood hinges sometime after 2019. Slightly different measurements now cause attachment pins to snap.

Fits face-lift and pre face-lift mazda 6 2003-2008. Easy installation. The hood opens more than with the prop rod and the shocks are plenty strong. I'm very satisfied with the product. I got them in black but they have more options.

Purchased for a 2016 Mazda 6. Kit said compatible with a 2013 - 2021. Instructions were minimal, but this should be pretty easy, right? Nope. The left side setup was easy, and followed the instructions, the right side simply didn't have a mounting point. Then after the mounts were installed - the strut was noticeably short. If I had figured out a way to mount the strut, then the hood would be barely open.

Alles hat seinen Preis und für Qualität gebe ich gern ein bisschen mehr aus.Die Dämpfer entsprechen genau meinen Vorstellungen. Einfachste Montage ( Plug & Play ). Ohne Bohren an vorhandene Befestigungspunkte anschrauben fertig. 15 min. Arbeitszeit wenn man sich nicht ganz dämlich anstellt. Die Ausschubkraft ist optimal eingestellt und ermöglicht ein einfaches öffnen und schließen der Haube. Lieferzeit ist zwar etwas lange aber damit kann ich leben. Von mir gibts verdiente 5 Sterne !!!!

Works perfectly on 94 rx7. Stock hood Raises slowly and stays up. How long it stays that w way, only time will tell.

En el caso de RX8 hay que recortar un poco un plástico del vano motor por que tropieza en el al cerrar y queda deformado. Da igual como los montes, tropieza si o si, hay que rebajar un poco la pestaña en la que toca. Eso sí, son faciles de poner y quitar, en ITV los quito, no quiero líos, que bastante raro miran ya al pobre coche.

Die Haubenlifter sind heute angekommen. Sie kamen früher als beschrieben. Die Verpackung ist unbeschadet nach der langen Reise bei mir angekommen. Was die Beschreibung angeht, ist sie etwas dürftig ausgefallen. Trotz alledem ist es eigentlich selbst erklärend!! Der Einbau ist zwar etwas Fummel Arbeit aber trotzdem sehr einfach. Nach ca. 10 min. waren die Haubenlifter verbaut und verrichten ihren Dienst so, wie man es von anderen Herstellern kennt.
